Urban Dictionary says ‘cat and dog’ refers to uninhibited wild sex. Considering that what Tip usually uses his mojo for, I am not surprised at that slang.
I got really confused when I started reading “Achewood.” I’d heard it was about two bears and an otter. But instead I jumped into a storyline about some cats who addressed each other as “dogg”….
I don’t know why but I find it very tender the way Tigerlily looks at Ira while just letting him be square (when she hates square!).
I believe that is Ira’s hidden superpower, making people just like him 😛
My impression that Funksters of the George Clinton school imagine an ancient Egypt blacker, funkier, and more saucer-powered than that envisioned by square archaeologists.
At first I thought Ira said baboons and cocktail wienies, and wondered what was going to be square about a party with baboons. Then I reread it, a little more awake.
dog cats?

I’d take “dog” as pejorative and “cats” referring to people. Can’t recall the two run together like that before.
That would be ‘dog people’ — Tip is going to visit Sweetheart’s pack.
As in “Those cats is just a buncha dogs.”
“Stop doggin’ my cat around!”
It’d be hard to top, say, the party Nero threw when Rome burned…
Don’t give Tigerlily ideas. Although an electric guitar would be and upgrade from a fiddle, now that I think about it . . .
Is it just me, or is Ira’s hat looking a little worse for wear?

Which is why he’s been able to get away with his diabolical charade for so long
Ira is so utterly, perfectly square (without interfering with anyone else’s groove) that it’s kind of a thing of beauty in itself.
No, no… Tigerlily hates THE MAN. Squares who are being true to their own square selves and not jiving anyone elses’ groove are cool.
She does hate that her own bots now come out square, but that was the fault of The MAN!
I was unaware that the ancient Egyptians were known for their sense of funk
At least their pyramids are only square on one side.
Perhaps it’s merely a fun(k) way to say ‘forever’.
My impression that Funksters of the George Clinton school imagine an ancient Egypt blacker, funkier, and more saucer-powered than that envisioned by square archaeologists.
Cats, as in “That is one cool cat.” another slang name for a person. Not sure about dog, but in context, it would seem to be a mild pejorative term.j
I think it’s literal, they’re going for Sweetheart’s pack, right? So they’re dogs XD
I thought she was talking quite literally as they are going to help sweethearts pack.
At first I thought Ira said baboons and cocktail wienies, and wondered what was going to be square about a party with baboons. Then I reread it, a little more awake.
Same.
Ditto.
King Tut!
“I’d like to get serious for a moment…”
It seems Tip’s sense of devotion to what he believes in has touched Tigerlily rather deeper than even she realizes.
Wow, she really has become quite fond of Ira, hasn’t she?
Hey don’t knock the weenies Tigerlilly!
…no I think I will stick with that phrasing.
