This strip is so perfect! I can’t imagine a better reunion!
Virginia’s expression in panel 1 is priceless! She’s delighted to see Nick, but unsurprised – she *knew* he would rescue her.
Nick’s ardent embrace in panel 2 perfectly reflects his relief and joy at finding her alive. True Love’s Kiss, indeed.
Sweetheart’s obvious annoyance in panel 3 is not only in character but demonstrates the redoubled effectiveness of torture in pairs. π And I can’t help but wonder if Tip is squirming uncomfortably, just a little…
And Sweetheart’s transition from amazed surprise in panel 1 through exasperation in panel 3 to weary acceptance that the day will doubtless continue to get stranger in panel 4 ties everything together beautifully!
I was gonna say, the way Virginia is totally unsurprised Nick has come to rescue her, and that she’s just been waiting patiently for him to arrive? Pretty great and conveyed entirely through her relatively serene facial expression.
The art really helps to convey all of the detail and complements the characters’ lines, though. This is a really good strip from every point of view! Actually, I think both of you deserve a lot of credit for making the art and writing fit so well together, not just in this specific strip but in general. It can’t be easy to make that kind of coordination look easy!
Indubitably! If I was successful in appreciating Jeff’s script it was largely due to Shaenon’s deft hand and remarkable gift for conveying emotions via body language.

The prisoners from Skin-Horse are found, still on their back sides and still bound. But Nick sees his Gin, and he dives full force in, leaving handshakes for others around.
Come on, Tip, I’m sure you can offer at least to reminiscence your werewolf days! π
Does Nick and Gin’s display short out all nearby electronics?
I wonder what the Goons heads up display is showing?
ITS OVER 9000!!!!
“Shoe Polishing Refresher Course – Attendance Optional”
That might keep the area clear.
Not yet, they’re just in the missing stage. When they go further, then the goons might be electrocuted.
oh, cmon Nick. We are still in hostile territory, surely that can wait until everyone safe.
At the rate they’re going, he’ll trigger Virginia’s mojo, and they’ll end up in New Jersey or something like that.
That would be great!
The Pacifica Taco Bell.
Smooches can never wait. π

If Tip is uncomfortable, it may be because he knows heβll never have a shot with Ginny again.

Well, he could have released her first so she could give him a proper hug back. Full body face-to-toe hugs and groping are delightful.
Thank Jeff. He knows how to script.

Perhaps Tip should up his offer to offering a laurel and hearty handshake.
Would ear scritchies be too personal?
Actually, Tip can’t offer a firm handshake due to Sweetheart’s paws being held down.
This was too easy of a rescue mission.
Well, they got in, but getting out might be harder.
Guys, untie them and get out of there! Save the orgy for when you’re out of danger.
Thank you for that image. Where did I leave the bleach again?

I don’t think anyone’s said “Gin!” with that much relief and delight since Winston Churchill.
ROFL!
“There’s an old man, sitting next to me, making love to his tonic and Gin.”
Well, Nick’s definitely making love to his Gin.
But does the microphone really smell like a beer?
A firm handshake
A certain look in the eye,
And an easy smile

Ear scraitches would probably have been more well recieved, Tip.
