Well, they weren’t very descriptive, but over 2 years ago, Jonah said something like “she mostly wants to make out a lot.” Where I come from, that’s at least 3rd base. And if that was 2 years ago, I’d be downright shocked if they hadn’t rounded home plate by now.
Yeah, but you only want to miss the telepath arc. The Centauri war was good.
Then again, if they only watch to the end of the Shadow War, that’s like episode 8 of season 4. I think the Centauri picked up mid-season 5. So that’s around 25 episodes or 1000 minutes ~ 17 hrs. But this supposes they want to skip the Earth Civil War, which is insane obviously.
(Yes, this is all off the top of my head. I may have a problem. An *awesome* problem.)
It’s not a problem if you don’t need help with your awesomeness.
I was assuming “Year of the Shadow War” encompassed all of S4, because like you said, anything else would be madness, and Lee is supposed to be sane! I do like more Londo and G’Kar, but everything else in S5 is eminently skippable.
“The Deconstruction of Falling Stars” IS the series finale, as far as I’m concerned. Even if you continue watching (and enjoying) through season 5.
They basically ended season 4 with a perfect series finale, and only learned after that the network had walked back the cancellation. There wasn’t really anything they could have done at the end of season 5 that would beat that, so they didn’t try.
And because of how it’s written, you can legit just set it aside and watch it at the end of the series instead of season 4, and it still works.
I can see that argument – I do love Deconstruction of Falling Stars – but then you wouldn’t get extra Ivanova if you don’t have the S5 ending.
Also, I believe that S5’s ending was filmed at the end of S4 (hence Ivanova and Garibaldi’s dialogue not really fitting with S5) and was supposed to be the series finale then. We only got TDoFS after the network walked back the cancellation and JMS needed a season finale quickly (and a whole extra season!).
If E.B. asked them to follow up the Babylon 5 marathon with a screening of At Sword’s Point (1952, starring Cornel Wilde and Maureen O’Hara) there’s a good chance Valiant might join them!

Priorities.
That still counts as spending he night with friends. 🙂
??? And what about her night with friends?
Bummer not being able to correct spelling in comments. (ask me how I know)
If they all go off and do that, who’ll keep an eye on Echo Bravo?
He’ll stumble about the robot looking for his, er, rat, and probably end up locked in a closet by his own hand after twenty minutes.
Jonah and Vera aren’t there yet. They can sufficiently chaperone Echo Bravo, I think.
Um… I think you missed something along the way. Jonah and Nera are there.
Depends. First base? Second? Third? Or a grand-slam home run like Nick and Dr. Lee?

One would hope so, but they may just be into heavy petting like Unity and Sweetheart.
“Heavy petting”… heh heh heh. I see what you did there.
I only wish I’d thought of it when making the post on top.
Don’t call her “a thing,” Nick
He’s referring to the act as the “thing”.
Stage direction: “This thing [moving upstage] is bigger than both of us.}
The problem with doing the Thing is that it keeps changing shape.
Yeah, that pretty much works for Babylon 5, just watch till the Year of the Shadow War but then you have watch the series finale episode.
I mean, there’s 21 episodes in S5, so they could go away, do lots of sex and still come back in time for Sleeping in Light.

If you skip the Earth civil war, you miss Ivanova’s epic speech. Who would skip one of the most quotable things in the whole series?

So this is the storm’s before-calm. Unreadable future is balm. But Nick and Virginia have plans that win-win-ya. They’ll put into action “da bomb.”
“Defences are up”, and yet both A-Sig’s Captain Incompetent and HT are able to wander into Sweetheart’s office at will.
That was merely a part of Sweetheart’s Very Cunning Plan. 🙂
If you let the enemy just walk right in, they’re easier to capture… usually. It’s a bit more complicated with H.T.
Despite everything he’s learned, he just can’t stay away from Sweetheart.

This was supposed to be a reply to Tuscahoma Jack above. Dunno how it got ‘ported down here upon submitting.
