Seduction doesn’t necessarily mean romance. I’d say in Virginia’s case he was mostly successful. He seduced her into working for Anasigma by tempting her with expensive research equipment, an apparently vast budget, access to mad tech and freedom from any moral or ethical restrictions she’d have had doing research practically anywhere else. He was thus able to exploit her for significant drone tech and other R&D work. That’s just one of the examples we’ve seen of him seducing people into working for him, sometimes unwittingly.
Ira made plenty of tries with Violet Bee. It’s very possible that he might have given his staff a version that *slightly* exaggerated their effectiveness.
Echo, echo,
There’s a need for tongue relying.
Bravo, Bravo, Bravo,
There’s just so many ways of dying.
You know there always is a way
To bring destruction here today, eh, eh…
Alfa, Alfa,
We don’t have to escalate.
You see, take a second glance, er,
For fanfic romance isn’t great.
You know there always is a way
To bring destruction here today, oh, oh, oh!
Icky rats with icky hats.
Diminish he with brutality.
Climb down that tree, so we can see.
Oh, who’s going down!
Who’s going down!
Yeah, who’s going down!
Baby, who’s going down!
—from “What’s Going On,” Al Cleveland / Renaldo Benson / Marvin Gaye, sung by Marvin Gaye.
Am I the only one who thinks these two have a real Andrew/Shaenon vibe going on? (Apologies if everyone has already mentioned this, I don’t usually read the comments.)
That might impress a layman, but it is just a regular Pliocene giant rat cultured from DNA trapped in amber, with its organs temporarily removed and put in suspended animation, while its hide is treated to a metallization process which is just accelerated fossilization in a pure metal oxide environment, and then replaced in its body.
The impressive part is that she did it by herself, while also working a full time job. I mean, it’s one thing if genetic engineering or cybernetics is your full time job, like Helen or Virginia, but she had to do it in her spare time.
… she’s not wrong about the M.O.
For Mr Green and Country!
Isn’t the target Artie? Don’t think either of them will have much of a shot, what with Sergio around…
To be fair, she didn’t say she was planning on seducing the target.
I think that end would be up to Echo Bravo.
Ira has seduction skills? IRA??? O_O
Since when? My memory may be faulty but I don’t recall him getting anywhere with anybody! @_@
Nobody ever said he was skilled at it.
To be fair, he did get Virginia pretty flustered when she didn’t know it was him.

Creepy in retrospect, of course, but poor Ginny definitely got seduced at least a little, even if only by a drone.

So Mr. Green is more Faustian than Casanova? That tracks, really.

Nah, he just lied through his teeth.
Nobody ever said it was a *good* MO.
I think I may have missed a step somewhere. At what point does the target die?
They really should have read the instruction manual for that thing.

Well Andrew and Shaenon come across as much smarter…
This looks like Anasigma’s prototype rat drone.

Yeah, that thing is pretty neat! An inspiring story!
