I will give you “cruel”, but I think having to sit through an adult conversation is both an effective punishment and highly unusual. That’s pavane is going to be given the chance for growth and self reflection in a safe environment does not lessen that her rampage is over.
Pavane is a coffee drinker. Tea is a cruel and unusual punishment for her.
The excess caffeine could possibly explain her irritability though,
too much of a buzz.
There’s no punishment more cruel and unusual than having your mother say “I told you so”. … OK, it’s not really unusual – it existed as long as there have been mothers and teenage kids. 🙂
Despite the saying, wisdom does not come with age – it comes with experience and a willingness to learn from your mistakes.
Plenty of old people out there with the wisdom of a goldfish because they either have been sheltered their entire lives, or they’ve refused to grow when challenged.
That, unfortunately, reminds me that I need to look into the deep magic of extreme router configuration. I have a wee little one who’s going to eventually need some internet-curtailing, and it would be nice to not curtail my own internet. Time for MAC-address-specific whitelists… (“You can do your schoolwork, but no MyTikGram for you!”)
Hopefully Pavane will be gently reminded how she ignored a broadly similar appeal to American law when it came to remanding the mass murderer who ate Pennsylvania to the proper authorities. What goes around comes around.
Pavane said she wanted the best. But “you people” was in with the rest. A claim that she loves them, but she’s really above them. It’s more like they’re under arrest.
The way this conversation’s going, Pavanne may soon develop a more mature perspective, and start drawing comb in his empty popcorn tins.
This story arc has been a delightful counterpoint to our beekeeping throughout the past month as we retrieved and re-hived three swarms. Since these wayward girlies all came from the same hive, two would be daughter-swarms with new, untried young Queenlings, like Pavanne.
After being captured, each swarm had to be placed a minimum of 30 miles away for at least a week […only a brief trip towards Lovetron…about 250 miles of bees-in-our-car] before it could be successfully persuaded to resume housekeeping in our bee yard. We didn’t initially get the Queen in one batch, which became rather irritable until we schlorped up Her Highness and her retinue, and rushed up to reunite the swarm.
Gee…the last month I had a bee infestation at my home. The guy just sprayed and sealed up the place where they got in. This was as a result of some palms that grew out of hand…and was followed closely by a rat infestation. I got hit by it all.
Hah! Well so much for Vague Benevolence. Whenever it boils down to ‘why won’t you idiots let me do whats BEST for you’ it’s never a good sign. It makes sense though- these were all decisions made totally separate from the people she was supposed to be trying to help.
This is the exact opposite of cruel, unusual, or punishment.

oooooooooooooh
There’s no punishment more cruel and unusual than having your mother say “I told you so”. … OK, it’s not really unusual – it existed as long as there have been mothers and teenage kids. 🙂
Cruel for a coffee drinker to be captive and forced to have tea~
Unusual… the whole situation.
Punishment… it IS time out, and her mom was right…
I think it checks all the boxes. Just ’cause she needs it doesn’t mean it’s not a punishment XD
So… does she *really* not understand?
With age comes wisdom. Apparently Pavane hasn’t achieved enough age to have acquired wisdom yet.
Wisdom: The age between folly and senility when you’re too tired to talk more than listen. 😉
Despite the saying, wisdom does not come with age – it comes with experience and a willingness to learn from your mistakes.

She may hive a point, No teenager likes being told they’re resembling their parents, or have their ride taken away. Besides she’s a coffee girl!
Although, really, yeah this isn’t that extreme, they haven’t even mentioned a grounding, curfew, or even curtailing Internet access!
Well, she’s been locked up, and not in her “room”.
You’ve been a naughty girl Pavane. Go to your Moustachio and think about what you’ve done.
Oh, and no Nintendo Switch Bee Simulator for you either.
That, unfortunately, reminds me that I need to look into the deep magic of extreme router configuration. “hive” a point?? Was that just a typo, or a clever pun? 🙂
Ah, an ironic punishment!
Mustachioe is more copper and steel than iron, with copious amounts of water, tea, and popcorn.
So, if bees could play with Nintendo Switches, would Bee Simulator be like The Sims to them?
Complaints about cruel and unusual punishment? They’re on Pavane’s flying saucer, not the U. S. S. Constitution.
Hopefully Pavane will be gently reminded how she ignored a broadly similar appeal to American law when it came to remanding the mass murderer who ate Pennsylvania to the proper authorities. What goes around comes around.
Ouch! That “you people” is a major red flag. To quote Dangerous Beans, “you think for many rats, but you don’t think *of* them.”
Pavane said she wanted the best. But “you people” was in with the rest. A claim that she loves them, but she’s really above them. It’s more like they’re under arrest.
Nice!
The way this conversation’s going, Pavanne may soon develop a more mature perspective, and start drawing comb in his empty popcorn tins.

“bees” … “rather irritable”
I can’t imagine anything that could have possibly gone wrong.
Gee…the last month I had a bee infestation at my home. The guy just sprayed and sealed up the place where they got in. This was as a result of some palms that grew out of hand…and was followed closely by a rat infestation. I got hit by it all.
Yikes!
Well, the rats all ran off, apparently.
Tea always makes things more civilized…
Pavane has at last been confined. Her plans are now falling behind. Her charges revolted, so a grill has been bolted. So much for the bee mastermind.
You’re on a roll today!
