I guess I haven’t been saying anything these past updates because they’ve been pretty self explanatory. Anyway it’s pretty clear how ridiculously high on her ego Tigerlily is.
You can show people a billion ways to be better people than the pathetic specimens they are, and so few people take the opportunity to learn and grow. Closed minds, closed hearts. They threw Martin Luther King in jail too.
Most people don’t have the time or the energy, and any helpful pointers are just a distraction they don’t know how to deal with. Any pity is wasted on them, it just prolongs their misery.
I had a colleague who thought like Baron. He was on my Zombie survival squad, but he was the guy I was going to kneecap when the chips were down to give everyone else the chance to get away.
If Baron came to me for assistance, and started out by telling me everything he thought was wrong with me, I’d drop-kick him across the road. But that’s just because I don’t have a dungeon to throw him into.
Nick should just leave him in there. But he won’t, because he’s too nice.
It might be a good idea to leave Baron in the cell until just before the team is ready to leave, but then we’d probably miss out on a good amount of the remaining plot complications.
The problem is, the Baron isn’t like this when Aimee talks to him, and while she knows this is because of the VR, I don’t think she grasps just how obnoxious he is in real life.
This version? Yes. Having to entertain the masses during that period (before the Little House was all but shut down) may explain his intolerance of the style now.
To be fair Tigerlily will tell people everything she thinks is wrong with them too, but to be fairer she doesn’t think of that as buttering someone up, she just does that because that’s how she rolls. She also does it in a smooth manner.
I’ve been wondering, is it just a shadow or does Nick always that little jewish skullcap? I know what its called but I have no idea how to spell it, beyond the fact it’s spelled nothing like how it sounds. Yah-mah-kuh is how it sounds, I think it’s spelled yaramuke?
One of the more useful reasons for the wonderful internet. Yarmulke is the conventional spelling, but to be fair, other spellings exist. It can also be called a kippah or kippa.
Sadly, I am in that category.
I’d like to point out that just because Baron is intolerable IRL in the Whimseyverse all he had to do is what any good professional actor does.
And come to think of it, that seems to be a common trait among human actors as well.
Pam Grier is still acting – as recently as last year – and Rosey Grier is still very much in the public eye. He was even running for Governor of California, but dropped out of the race in 2017.
So if you don’t know who either of them are, it’s not because of your age.
Nick always loves it when he’s the most socially ept person in the room.
Although… I guess that’s been happening more to him recently.

At this point Aimee in particular should realize that Baron is more a liability than an asset.
Unfortunately like Megatron with Starscream, Aimee will have to stick with Baron.
The problem is, the Baron isn’t like this when Aimee talks to him, and while she knows this is because of the VR, I don’t think she grasps just how obnoxious he is in real life.
And yet she has still asked why she keeps him around.
The Baron is loyal and is willing to do his job, the problem is that he was the ONLY person Aimee had in meatspace.
“The Baron is loyal and willing to do his job.” I would say at that point, this seems questionable. He doesn’t seem to be especially motivated.
I wonder if Baron is old enough to have actually lived through the 70s…

It’s a wonder he lasted at Whimsey World as long as he did.

Yarmulke is the Yiddish name. Kippah is Hebrew. On the rare occasion Nick refers to it I think he’s always called it a kippah.
How many here are to young to know who the **** Pam Grier is?
Let alone Rosey Grier….
Sadly, I am in that category.

One of the movie channels has some of her films in rotation right now. If I recall right, they were pretty awful, but they’re there.
I may be too young to have seen her Blaxploitation films first run, but I’ve definitely seen them. Plus she starred in Jackie Brown.

The first black female super hero. And a dynamite rack to boot!
I haven’t caught all her movies, but I don’t recall Grier having a dynamite rack. She’s more about urban warfare than demolitions.
Boom boom!
You win.
