Pavane told Sweetheart that she wanted to call “you” all home to Lovetron, so that’s probably what Gavotte is expecting. Sweetheart won’t thank her for it if she does. You know she’s going to hate Lovetron.
In THAT ‘family’ when a grown daughter and entourage ‘move in’ somebody DIES, usually, after great battles and struggles. Not nice. There is ONE Queen.
Well, they can cohabit — but only if they don’t interact much, and not for long. (So, *just* like Gavotte and Pavane, then.)
Ants are quite different. There are colonies with thousands of queens. Heck, some really big supercolonies probably have millions. (But then social ants are much more diverse than social bees, and have had much more time to evolve in weird directions.)
I keep speculating about Gavotte’s other Baroque-dance-themed relatives. Such as, oh let’s see-
Galliard (the pirate swarm), Rigaudon (the ruthlessly strict underworld boss), Polonaise (Warsaw Pact defector), Gigue (retro detective, catchphrase “The jig is up!”), Bouree (just drones on and on) and the tragically short-lived Minuet.
Probably they import some. Do they take it with honey?
Lots of honey. Pollination is big business in Kansas.
Given the context of their previous meeting, this revelation is as disquieting as it is portentous.
Is Pavanne bringing the grand-kids?
If Gavotte is showing concern, it seems that this is indeed a disquieting thought.
Of course Kansas has tea! Would you prefer instant or premade in a large plastic bottle?
How would you like to be attacked by a swarm of angry (and thirsty) bees?
Sweetened with corn syrup or aspartame?
Beet sugar. It’s ordinary sucrose just like cane sugar but it’s more expensive.
“Earth as a whole?” What, she’s bringing an armada from the bee home planet?

An armada? Would that make them more like the Zerg, the Reapers, or heaven help us, a Xenomorph ship?
‘Pavane’ has only one n.
You can be the one to tell her that.
Unless.. unless Gavotte has two daughters?!
(maybe even an older sister, Gavote?)
“If she can have two t’s, I can have two n’s.”

Und was ist los mit Allemande?
Nicht viel.
