i am seeing the daughter ether being the company it’s self or some type of computer – his talents do not seem to run toward gerbils or other biologicals!
Of course. The constructs are his “children”, so his “daughter” that the SoWC has been asking about is also a construct….
But she won’t be the company itself, as that was who wrote the scripts for the voice actors asking about Collodi’s daughter.
This might very well be. Especially with the line on “You don’t integrate with us. We integrate with you.” Reminds me of this previous strip….

Oh, sorry… bad no edit…
This one is better, I think… or maybe these two go with that one to support what I’m saying… I hope someone gets it.

(TUNE: “Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow”, Sherman & Sherman)
We will integrate with you tomorrow,
Though I likely won’t survive the day!
We will integrate with you tomorrow,
Though the mob won’t let me get away!
The old life, organic, is full of fools!
The new life, mechanic, it truly rules!
And when you awaken, you’ll know the score!
You’ll go to war,
Just like before!
We will integrate with you tomorrow,
Though I likely won’t survive the day!
Yes, you’ll build a great and new tomorrow …
Man-kind you will slay!
Would that be transhumanism or posthumanism? I can never really tell when someone is talking about the constructs being superior to humans, rather than equal to humans or integrated with human society.
Posthumanism. Transhumanism is about advancing mankind, posthumanism is about creating humans successor (though given the rather whimsical choice of what’s considered human, they tend to overlap).
“We integrate with you” makes me think of transhumanism, unless “intergration” means accepting we’re inferior beings with no place in the New World of Machines.
I don’t really have much to say about today’s strip, but something that I’ve wanted to say for a while (and I’m sorry if anyone’s already pointed this out):
Those preparing for war will often remind you not to trust peacemakers — one never knows whose side they’re on, or what profane compromises they may suggest.
This is a bit geopolitical for a world where magic is real and zombies are trying to make self-defense against their attempted murders illegal and the cute character is a sociopathic engine of destruction.
I mean, “integration” means give AND take, not “absorb and reshape entirely.”

I think that is more a case of the corporation not understanding yet that it is the Daughter.

A most appropriate song to use!
The question is how the Whimsey constructs react to this….
I hope its something on the epic scale of cuteness, that destroys with its level of whimsey
That last line on the third panel, I think, needs its own thunder sound effect. It bodes.
Yet, in its own way, oddly optimistic.
Who knew a statement could be both?
Would that be transhumanism or posthumanism? I can never really tell when someone is talking about the constructs being superior to humans, rather than equal to humans or integrated with human society.

I think he meant “You don’t have to find a place in our society, we’ll have to find a place in yours.”
BODES!!
Integration… I think we’re talking borgtalk here. Especially if the New World Order hooks up with Gavotte and her ilk.
Alternatively he just wants to make the worlds biggest calculus club.
As a diabolic scheme it works either way.

In that week of strip’s Friday, you wondered about how Mell managed to do that if you were the god of the Narboniverse.
Much, much later, in the Wednesday of the week below, you mentioned that Satan was female. I think that kind of explains things. 🙂
