Fact is: Despite his preference for crossdressing, Tip would look positively dashing in that tuxedo. The conflict between him and Termontino is not based on his ability to look good in men’s clothing but his disinclination to wear it.
“Yes, I think of it as double drag.”
OK, so that is a thing (although the top results on Google are for a drum-playing technique…) If a pretty woman can look good in a tux (or other “male” clothing – the Thunderbirds reboot has an episode that I swear was just an excuse to put Lady Penelope in a chauffeur’s uniform) then I’m sure Tip could too.
The funny part is that if those guys wore those outfits at the right convention, they’d not only fit right in, but definitely stand out less than some folks I’ve seen!
Quick! Get those opossums to the nearest Comic-Con! (Or pretty much any anime or sci-fi convention, for that matter…)
Tip is a research psychologist, who likes to gloss over the huge difference between that and a clinical psychologist. We saw in the very first week, with Leo, what a “good listener” Tip is in his own mind.
I don’t know about ‘gloss over’, he tells people pretty often that he isn’t a therapist. It’s not his fault if they want to unload their problems on him anyway.
That bit about the tuxedo is an interesting conundrum.
A hint, perhaps, that Tip is not at home?
I thought the crew was back from that alternate universe: Is the letter writer (forgot his name) from that other reality?
Oh, I was suggesting that the Groovitron might have let someone else possess his body, but that’s another possibility.
It’s a dig at his gender nonconformance, not a plot hint. Remember, he wants Tip to stop wearing women’s clothing.
Like combined with the rest of the note he’s saying that Tip isn’t a woman and shouldn’t dress like one?
No one said he couldn’t ware a skirt. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0829/2279/products/ladiesgirlstuxedorental1_1024x1024.jpg?v=1443980534
A good tuxedo would in fact flatter Tip.
Confidence can make any clothing flattering, so I agree.
That backhanded compliment. Savage.

Hey, Shaenon! How ’bout a Tip Tuxedo Sunday panel? Maybe he lost a bet or something…
Send the request in the form of a question to her email, so maybe it’ll show up some Sunday.
Why can’t one make a tux of a woman’s cut? Like Mdme. Dietrich?
Yes, I think of it as double drag.

Skin Horse turtle seamstresses are GO!
What if they got so weird and out there that like an integer overflow, it wraps around to the beginning and people just block them out again?
i am thinking so weird they look like space aliens and are therefore acceptable to perceive.
Let’s face it: one way or another, and like it or not, Tip is going to end up wearing that suit.
There’s another thought: Perhaps Tremontino is an older Tip…
If only to prove Tramontino wrong. But let’s face it, Tip can make anything look hot.
Seconded. And agreed that he’s getting into that tux at some point, just to prove everyone on this side of the screen right.

Tremontino, I guess, cares about getting his clients in the right outfits. Tip, the psychologist, really isn’t concerned with what’s right for them.
(Or is Tip a psychiatrist? I know I remember us hashing that out a while back, but it’s slipped my mind again.)
Tip is concerned about getting his clients what they want, which is an un-shut-down Groovitron.

Thought so. I’d hate—I think I said this back then, too—I’d hate for Tip to be running around loose with a prescription pad.
A disturbing thought indeed!

I think he owes Tip an embroidered midi.
Welp, time to kill Disco again.
To be fair it’s hard to find someone a well-fitted tux wouldn’t flatter.
