“The next thing they saw was a pavilion pitched on one side of the open place. A wonderful pavilion it was—and especially now when the light of the setting sun fell upon it—with sides of what looked like yellow silk and cords of crimson and tent-pegs of ivory; and high above it on a pole a banner, which bore a red rampant lion, fluttered in the breeze which was blowing in their faces from the far-off sea. While they were looking at this they heard a sound of music on their right; and turning in that direction they saw what they had come to see.”
Presumably, without looking it up myself, it “The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe” upon three of the of four Pevinsie children seeing Aslan’s army camp and meeting Aslan for the first time.
Presumably… *I* wouldn’t be able to quote it from memory.
Been really busy the last several days and got behind. What a lovely strip to catch up on! I really needed something to make me smile this evening, and this fit the bill!
The team with the server arrived. They’re finding a fair that has thrived. It’s not the ass-end, but a place to commend. Gee, it’s worth it to take a long drive.
Could Pavane have figured out a way to harness and control the reality blindness, so that the nonhuman sentients can be completely concealed from Anasigma? They can have an “invisible homeland” of their own, now?
Looks more like the Flint Hills a little further east. Wish I could share photos because the whole scene, from the hills to the tents to the flags to the sunset looks very much like the setting of the Symphony in the Flint Hills i had the pleasure to attend a couple of weeks ago south of Council Grove.
I’ll invite you to go on a bike ride with me around Lawrence and you can tell me whether Kansas is truly all that flat.14th Street here in town has a 14% grade.
Looks like a couple of Cuddly Cobras near the center of the panel, heading towards what might be a Brave Little Toaster (and hopefully not Talky Toaster!)
That is a heck of a fair.
I wish I could squint better.
It’s the 21st century! Just pinch to zoom in (or use the mouse wheel)
Didn’t help much. That looks like it might be Leo’s mane in the front, though.
That mane is the first thing I noticed…

Thank you, Moe. Far more appropriate than anything I could say.
I’ll content myself with asking “Are those flying monkeys?” and leaving my jaw agape in wonder at the sheer visual brilliance of panel 3…
Could be flying monkeys, could be bird people…
I was more impressed by the depiction of snoozing Gin in panel one..
Quote from something? It seems vaguely familiar.

My guess too. I just wondered if someone could confirm it.
Got it in one.

Looks like several dragons in the sky. Kay has company.
I was thinking of flying monkeys.
The largest one does seem to be wearing pants.
Oooh! It’s like nonhuman Pennsic!
I love it! It’s so beautiful! Absolutely rife with promise that will meet a cruel reality.
I sense an end is near. (Rear or otherwise.)
Same here. Recall the Wizard of Oz connection. Of course, we’ve been faked out/fooled ourselves before.

Why not Gavotte?
Parts of Kansas are always like this. Closely held secret!
True story! 🙂
Somewhere between Abilene and Hope?

That was my guess. I had to drive it enough for my crew transport job.
But, Jen could very well be right about those being the Flint Hills. Just far off in the distance (I used to live in Emporia).
I know you’re lying because if any part of Kansas was like this, you could see it from any other part of Kansas.
I’ll invite you to go on a bike ride with me around Lawrence and you can tell me whether Kansas is truly all that flat.14th Street here in town has a 14% grade.
Believe it or not, parts of Kansas are quite hilly.
Only western Kansas is flat.
All of A-Sig’s targets gathered together in one place. What could possibly go wrong?
Oh, now you’ve done it. You said the magic words.
Absolutely! It’s IMPOSSIBLE for nothing to go wrong!
Yes, I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Now,that IS Kansas. Thank you! 🙂
All I can say is, somebody had better have started a rock band to play for this crowd.
How about Kansas?
+1,000

I’m gonna say BLT because of what looks like a lampy right beside
Where do we get tickets for this fair?
Tickets? You need to commission a sidewalk chalk artist…
Nick’s right. Asses are, indeed, great.
