November 2021 Skin Horse Wallpaper
Shaenon: I like coffee, I like old-timey advertisements, so this month I’m drawing old-timey coffee advertisements. The coffeepots balanced on Moustachio’s hat are based on my little Moka pot, which I got during lockdown when I couldn’t go to out for fancy espresso drinks. It’s adorable, it makes amazing coffee, and it cost about fifteen bucks, all qualities of a brilliant invention.
As usual, if you make a donation in any amount to the Skin Horse Tip Jar, or contribute any amount to our Patreon, we’ll give you a link to this wallpaper, designed for two computer desktop sizes and cell phones. Patreon contributors will continue to receive new wallpaper for the length of their contribution.
As a bonus, you’ll also receive last year’s November wallpaper, one of my favorite things I’ve drawn:
Channing: I have nothing witty to say other than that these all look so dang good and I would drink the heck out of all of them just to see if the inside was as good as the packaging.
As a fellow coffee aficionado, I totally approve of these ads!
Coffee! Coffee! Coffee! Reminds me a bit of Agatha Heterodyne’s perfect brew, without the clanks.
I’m more of a tea drinker, although I have the occasional latte, but these look brilliant.
Dr. Lee is known to make awful strong coffee: http://skin-horse.com/comic/quite-taken/
Correction: Dr. Lee is known to make good strong coffee.
Dang, those are gorgeous.
Awesome!
I like those posters even though coffee has never been my cup of tea.
I see what you did.
Well, of course not. Coffee isn’t anyone’s cup of tea.
A coffee selection of bean. All loaded with lots of caffeine. If it’s brewed till it’s runny or textured with honey, hey, it beats using hard Benzedrine.
Continuity error! Today, Shaenon says “I like coffee”, but previously she said “I don’t drink coffee. Don’t like the taste.” ( http://narbonic.com/comic/august-7-12-2000/ ) You’d think the scriptwriter would at least try to keep this “Shaenon” character consistent. Who writes this stuff anyway?
You say that as if someone cannot begin to like something even if they previously did not like it. It’s been a long time since she wrote those commentaries.
The version of the “Shaenon” character in Narbonic has small but significant differences from the version in Skin Horse.
As with any good character, we have seen some growth and development over the years.
