Framed Comics!
Shaenon: I love seeing our art framed. Joel Schneider was kind enough to send me this photo of some beautifully displayed Narbonic and Skin Horse artwork. Thank you so much!
Channing: It always tickles me to see these originals finding homes. I like the feeling that there’s one silly section of words I helped create that someone found so meaningful that they’d like to see it framed, on a wall. In this case, I believe the Skin Horse strip in question is 100% Shaenon’s work, but the sentiment still stands. This also means that I can congratulate you on your good taste without personal bias!
Shaenon: Naw, this had to be your script, Jeff. There’s no way I’d give myself something that hard to draw.
It’s a frameup!
Because I was curious enough about the context, and in case anyone else is also curious: the Narbonic art comes from this week of strips: http://narbonic.com/comic/august-23-28-2004/ and the Skin Horse art comes from this strip: http://skin-horse.com/comic/since-then/
Thank you!
What’s the tune that the Madbots yell?
Also is that a semibreve-and-a-half?
Perhaps this: <a href="http://narbonic.com/comic/the-complete-madblood-battle-anthem/"The Official Madblood Battle Anthem".
Crud.
The Official Madblood Battle Anthem
Not implausible, but apparently it’s Helen’s ringtone, and on third look Dave does seem to be shouting into a phone rather than the Madbots being in earshot.
Thanks anyway!
That’s not the robots yelling, it’s Helen’s ring tone.
Ah, thanks!
It’s Helen’s ringtone, and discussion on that week of strips (thanks for the link, kiralamouse!) suggest that it’s “She Blinded Me With Science”.
Ah, thanks!
This has probably been asked before, but… any chance Patreon supporters can see the bonus strips?
I have not been able to unearth the clause in question, but I also recall a promised award of shares of the labour of firstborn children upon attainment of fourteen years of age.
Hi, sorry, but I’m being slow, which strips are you referring to again? My apologies.
No, I should have been more specific. I meant the bonus stories from the books. It looks like, had I paid more attention and noticed that there were e-books, the natural solution would have been for me to move money around to buy them.
Happy to share the picture! The Narbonic original came from a sale on the store, so I didn’t specify which one I wanted, though I don’t think I would have chosen any different! The other comes from the previous kickstarter and wanted to pick a comic that summed up Skin Horse. And of course I had to have a picture of Ginny and Nick.
