Villains: In Color!
Shaenon: And here’s the final version of the page from “Villains,” the Skin Horse Volume 10 bonus story. Thank you to our colorist, Pancha Diaz, and thanks to everyone who backed the new Skin Horse books on Kickstarter. They’ll be out early in the new year!
Channing: Every wonder what Skin Horse woulda looked like had we done colored panels from the very beginning? This gives you some idea, at least. Great work, Pancha, and thank you to absolutely everyone for making this possible.
Hmmm, the voiceover sounds familiar…(http://skin-horse.com/comic/tip-wore-white/)
What voiceover?
Those words on the screen. When you hear someone speaking, but no one on screen is actually talking out loud, it’s called a voiceover, even if you’re just “hearing” the person’s thoughts. Obviously, in a comic strip, you aren’t actually *hearing* anything, so you have to use a little imagination.
I hate to say this, but James looks friendlier than Tip!
So, I thought I said this before but apparently I didn’t, so here it is; technically speaking there’s a chance that the organic lion could be just as powerful as the mechanical one if not more, robots aren’t automatically more powerful, that really just depends on how well that they’re been built, infact I think that animatronics can be torn about with bare human hands.
So yeah, I was hoping to start a dialogue with this.
Point in favor of the danger of activated animatronics: they are incapable of being inhibited. Animals can make choices. But since this lion is a robot, and also described as deranged, all bets are off.
One thing we can be sure of – the sniper isn’t using tranquilizer darts!
The sniper isn’t the brightest bulb on the tree. She actually might be using tranquilizer darts.
With underwear, it’s not better to look good than be good.
That depends on why you’re wearing the underwear. And I can assure you that Tip and this guy (whatever his name is) both wear their underwear strictly for looks.
James. Which I only remember because I connected it to Shaenon once saying that Tip was partly named after James Tiptree Jr.
I knew someone would remember it.
I thought it was more from Princess Ozma…
I have a feeling that the final panel will conclude with “I’m a parapsychologist.” or some such declaration (currently suppressed to avoid spoilers).
Speaking of uniforms, is the lettering on James’ back “VIL”?
“Villains Intervention League”?
I think it’s part of the Anasigma symbol.
Just managed to work the download this afternoon—dunno why downloading in general always gives me trouble, one way or another, but it does.
But I was glad to browse through it—even spotted a correction.
