November 2020: Ratsgiving
Shaenon: I asked my kid what I should draw for this month’s wallpaper, and he said, “A cat making Thanksgiving dinner.” So here’s Cinnamon. The design is based a little bit on Maxfield Parrish, and the rats are inspired by the scene in The Muppets Take Manhattan with all the rats working in the diner. Everything I do owes a debt to Muppets.
As usual, if you make a donation in any amount to the Skin Horse Tip Jar, or contribute any amount to our Patreon, we’ll give you a link to this wallpaper, designed for two computer desktop sizes and cell phones. Patreon contributors will continue to receive new wallpaper for the length of their contribution.
You’ll also receive this bonus November wallpaper from the archives:
Channing: We all knew it would be about cats, and it is in no way unwelcome. Thanks for the idea, Robin!
Looks like Cinnamon sampled some of the white meat.
Just checking to make sure it’s not still pink.
Probably collateral damage from when Cinnamon “acquired” the turkey in the first place.
“Everything I do owes a debt to Muppets”
Now, now, you’re not being fair on yourself-some of your stuff owes a debt to Pogo.
…as well as L. Frank Baum.
Canned cranberry sauce? But the real stuff is so easy to make! (And so much better.)
Yes, but there’s something very comforting about slicing that purple cylinder into little circles. We have the home-made with guests and save the canned for the next day sandwiches.
But less fun to draw.
Shaenon, it has been years since I had a family, still more years since my last Thanksgiving dinner with them. You’ve brought back a lot of memories today…
Is “Horror Every Day” defunct? I’ve been getting 404 Not Found errors for several days now. That’s too bad. I liked hitting the Random and still occasionally finding a film I hadn’t gotten around to seeing yet.
Indeed. It was amusing in its own right, and also a useful list when I wanted ideas for worthwhile horror movies to watch.
It’s gone down today for some reason. I’m trying to figure out what’s wrong.
Okay, Horror Every Day is fixed!
Hooray! Thank you, Shaenon!
Narbonic.com is down too, unfortunately. I’ve been trying to access it for the past couple of days with no luck.
Hold up. Ratatouille is just “That one scene from The Muppets Take Manhattan: The movie”? Mind blown!
We all owe a debt to the Muppets.
