Shaenon: The dog version of me ended up looking like Rowlf from the Muppets, which I know is flattering myself.
Channing: Basically the lesson here is that you should never let me be in charge of anything ever.

I hope the dog apocalypse is nothing like the Dogscape. https://creepypasta.fandom.com/wiki/Dogscape
Jesus balls, what compels a person to write that? What madness allows them to even think that? Those thoughts are not the thoughts of a well person.
You know, I assumed Robin would be like, a teenager by now, or atleast somewhere around ten.
Just recently turned 5. http://skin-horse.com/comic/2014-07-20-2/
Oh yeah, just found this the other day when lookingup his name! (And um, his gender).
That’s not how webcomic time works.
The six-toed Hemingway cats will have something to say about that.
And what about Leslie Fish’s super-intelligent polydactyls?
Six toes on each foot, or six toes total?
The Hemingway cats are all polydactyls.
Shaenon, I think your dog version is much cuter than Rowlf. Maybe it’s the glasses.
Look, I luvs you all beyond mere written words….AND I grant you, I will stick this out if it takes all Summer. However, we took a poll locally, and any more interruptions in the narrative will not receive automatic, cheerful kudos. Your free-range enthusiasm numbers may have peaked. Patience, which the subject demographic under consideration here has always found in short supply, seems more loudly and vociferously demanding than usual. Signs are being lettered with mottoes. Committees of Vigilance have scheduled meetings.
OK, can we ‘get on’ with this, or must this ol’ liberal shed more tears? What? are you guys thirsty?
Sunday updates are always like this.
To actually answer the question: Unity might be your best bet.
The lesson here is that Jeff should be in charge of everything ever.
Doggies with goggies… It could work!
Puppy Robin is the most adorable thing.
I thought Dog!Shannon looked more like Lady to Mr. Wells’ Tramp
The laugh was appreciated, Shaenon and Jeff. 🙂
But to answer the actual question, yes, there are several possibilities for long-haired costumes – both male and female, and various hair colours. I’ll just concentrate on the main characters.
U.N.I.T.Y. (a hair-stylist’s nightmare, but it would be an awesome costume)
Dr. Tip Wilkin – male or female version
Dr. Chris Sanders
Dr. Virginia Lee
Bubbles aka Violet Bee
Artie (has to be dreadlocks)
And if you expand to Narbonic, you get a few more.
Helen Narbon – any of them
Melody W. Kelly
Zeta
I supose it depends on your definition of ‘long haired.’ For instance the only ones that popped in my mind when this question came up were:
Bubbles
Helen
Mall
I had forgotten about Chris
Well, Tip’s and Virginia’s hair was a lot longer earlier on. Both have been cut fairly recently. Zeta’s hair went through different phases, so you could easily get away with long hair if you got the rest of the costume right. Artie’s hair is quite long, but sometimes it’s hard to tell because of the dreads.
I had long hair. I got it cut for Zeta, and it took literal years to grow back to my normal length.
I’m impressed. It’s not just anyone who will chop off their hair for a cosplay.
Sorry: Mell
Blame autocorrect
Shouldn’t at least one of the characters be wearing a pork pie hat and a bow tie?
Good grief, the comedian’s a dog!
…I don’t know where I was going with this.
If Shaenon is Rowlf, Robin is Fizzgig.
I think the lesson here is that Channing should be in charge of everything forever. Especially with regards to cute dogs.
