I think I’ve heard of all but four artists—but I’m sure I’ve heard just one of the songs.
Same here – all but four artists. But I recognise six of the songs.
I recognize most of them and that’s the first time I genuinely like as much of them (4)… Really hate Daft Punk tho. Pains me that they’re one of the most known french band and doin’ almost nothing and got their fame by using ONE fucking potentiometer…

Me? Actually heard, not just heard of. I think everybody can see, from the songs I parody, that there’s a certain mid-eighties cutoff in my pop-song content, and, even then, my tastes were retro at the time. Still, an occasional song does drift in from time to time.
I think I’m gonna make it *two* songs I’ve actually listened to: “Up from the Skies” and “The Shape of Things.”
I’ve got one brother who used to listen to Bjork and Kate Bush, and a sister who listened to Fiona Apple, so I’ve heard those three songs enough to get them stuck in my head. A guy I knew in college was a TMBG fan, so I kept up with them for a few years after I got out of school. Their “Apollo 18” album with “My Evil Twin” on it came out just a couple years later. And a guy I worked with in the mid-90s was a classic rock fan, so he listened to a lot of The Cure, Hendrix, and Rush. So technically, I’ve heard seven of the songs, but it was the Rush version of “Shapes of Things”, so I don’t really count it (I might have heard The Yardbirds sing it too, but I only remember the one by Rush).
So what you’re saying is that the Magnetic Fields are TMBG’s evil twins.
No, no.. Magnetic Fields is jealous because TMBG has an evil twin, and they don’t.
Any playlist that has both Kate Bush and They Might Be Giants on it is a winner.

So, I was able to find most of the songs on youtube no problem. But the last one by ratsy? I took me three tries via google to verify that it exists.
Anyways, here is the playlist on youtube, I’m going to go listen to it now.
