That’s two years our time. It hasn’t been two years in-comic.
And there’s no way they could rebuild that building in one month. It would take most of that time just to clear away the debris from the old building. There’s a four-story office building going up near me, and they’ve been working steadily on it for over a year. So if they were indeed only offline for one month, they would have to be at a different location. They may or may not have been able to find another suitable building nearby.
Well, I had always assumed that they were using “ana-” as a prefix, like “anti-“, so their name would mean something like “anti-sum”, but as it turns out, the word “ana” also means “a collection of miscellaneous information about a particular subject, person, place, or thing.” And that turns out to be exactly what Skin Horse was providing them. Anasigma = the sum of such collections of information. It seems that there is A LOT more to it. It seems “anasigma” really means “you’re not seeing the whole picture” (ana=not; sigma=sum=total=whole picture).
“Remember your three Os: Obscure, Obfuscate, and Obliterate.”
She’s 14 hours away … how many hours are required? If you stay in the pit for more than 8 hours a day, does it count as time-and-a-half? Or does it only start to count after 8 hours?
But if you’re in there for any time at all, does it have to be on your own time, or do you have to bring your own work with you in order to continue to make or exceed productivity goals? Otherwise you’re bringing your entire group down!
waynezombie: I don’t know if that would bring your group down, but chatting on the phone to people from an outside organisation while you’re in the Loyalty Pit could bring your whole office down.
Oh. Well, who *wouldn’t* accept a little grief for the sake of getting a key to the Loyalty Restrooms? ^_~
Hey, they clean them two times a day, TWO TIMES A DAY. And they leave it smelling minty fresh! The regular bathrooms only get cleaned every other day…
Depends. How many quarters does it cost to use them?
Well yeah.. when you flush you hear … expuuurgatedddd….
The old “change the name” practice, just like “It’s not genocide, it’s clensing“
I bet it’s a very nice job compared to the ones given to people who do not volunteer for the loyalty pit. For that they deserve her gratitude.
Are they building a fighting force of enormous magnitude?
(And are the other jobs in Detroit?)
Let’s give Anasigma a great big hand!
Does Remy have any great big hands in stock?
I didn’t even realize I was doing that.
Why didn’t they just pick her up when they were up helping the Cypress in Carbondale?
Not actually sure where she is geographically at the moment. The Cypress destroyed the facility in Carbondale, remember?
It was said that it would be offline for a month over two years ago. She could be elsewhere, but she could very easily be there.

I didn’t know Jeff Bezos ran Anasigma
I would have said Catbert, but then Asig is hostile to talking animals.
Wouldn’t be the first talking animal hostile to talking animals
…That place has too many ways to die.
Or not enough, depending on your point of view.
Anasigma West has a thousand ways to die all on its own.
Is Anasigma an anagram? “Mania Gas” would explain the curious devotion of its employees.
Well, their logo is a literal Sigma (Σ) in a prohibited sign () so I doubt there’s much more to it
…wait, no emoji?

It sure looks like they bring in their work … I just wonder if office hours accrue as Loyalty hours, or only your own time counts for that.
I think my office needs a Loyalty Pit.
None! It’s insane!
It’s like video game achievements, but for rl.
None! It’a insane!
(Sorry, meant to respond to Robert the first time but it ended up down the page as a top-level comment.)
I have that trouble all the time.
Not that she needs too, but will Ginny break out her superhero outfit with the rockets?
