Comics Every Day Calendar
Shaenon: Look how awesome this is! GoComics, which e-publishes Skin Horse, has included it in next year’s page-a-day comics calendar. It looks so classy. These would make excellent holiday gifts for literally everyone. I’m just saying.
Channing: Naturally, our contribution includes bunch of strips featuring Bubbles and Sweetdaddy Jupiter Velvet so that anyone picking it up for the first time will just have no clue what the heck they’re reading.
Jeff—
When I first discovered Skin Horse on GoComics, having no clue what the heck I was reading is exactly what drew me in. It made me find this website, read the whole archive and then read all of Narbonic. Now I have ALL the clues.
What clued me in was landing in the middle of the Jonah Yu and Nera story. When they first printed “The End,” I thought, “Geez. I just find something interesting and here they are ending it already. But then they printed one the next day and after that, and the rest is history.
Thanks, Manifesta. That makes me feel better. 🙂
The first strip I saw was Sergio and Virginia searching the dark tunnels of St. Charlie with Nick joining the conversation via phone, specifically the “man dies of cold, not of darkness” one. My initial assumption was that Virginia was mute and communicated through a program on her phone.
The first strip I saw had a transvestite shrink confronting a genetically enhanced lion.
Having been here from the beginning doesn’t really reduce the “what the crap is going on here?” factor of this comic is what I’m saying.
No kidding.
Hitty made the calendar! Woo!
Embrace the chaos and you will be rewarded.
Thats my birthday! dang it why am I only finding out about this now!
