The Monster at the End of This Comic
Shaenon: The uncolored first page of “The Monster at the End of This Comic,” a story for the upcoming Couscous Collective anthology, MONSTERS. Which reminds me: I’ve added an original art page to this site, showing off some of the many pieces of Skin Horse, Narbonic, and other comic art I have available for sale. I’ll be adding artwork regularly, so if you’re into that kind of thing, have a look.
Channing: You have no idea how happy this makes me. Seeing Shaenon-art for a script I did is like friggin’ opening a Christmas present every time it happens. Now I just have to beat “Big Monster,” so I can feel like I am a superior writer than an elementary-school student. And no, I don’t know what “beat” entails.
For some reason, I am hearing Sweetie sounding a lot like Grover…
I know *exactly* what you mean…
Maybe if she didn’t drink a bathtub full for an opening drink…
William Windom did a wonderful bit in the old _My World, And Welcome To it_ TV show in which he postulated that General Grant celebrated too much the night before accepting the surrender of General Lee and was so hungover the next morning he accidentally surrendered the Union to the Confederacy.
Can anyone think of an actress who sounds like a female William Windom? 🙂
Swoosie Kurtz comes closest.
Sweetheart, no. Bathtub gin is the correct answer.
‘The Monster at the End of This Book’ starring Grover was the first book my daughter read on her own, sight unseen. So I’m having all the feels right now.
