Big Monster! In Color!
Shaenon: Here are the finished first pages of “Big Monster!”, one of the two stories I’m drawing for the upcoming Couscous Collective anthology MONSTERS. Pancha Diaz, the wonderful colorist for Skin Horse, colored it. Now I need to get to work on the second story, a SH story written by Jeff.
Channing: I still feel like I’m in a competition here, and against a very strong opponent at that.
I know exactly what you’re going through, Jack.
Deleted scene (British ending): He sneaks into school and eats everyone’s Monster Munch.
I know I personally go through the human equivalent of:
1. Feel I do not know how to write
2. Give up and stay home
3. Feel Bad
…virtually every week.
All my teachers were old bats, too…
The one-eyed monster feels bad because he has no valentine.
Can’t wait to get a copy of MONSTERS…
So let’s see…
B is for bat,
C is for Cat,
D is for A Sheep that Tripped and Fell on its Face,
E is for Eye,
F is for Frankenstein’s Monster?
G is for Ghost,
H is for… Haunted House, maybe?
I is for Doorway.
Can anybody work out the pictures next to D and I?
Oh, and J is for Jack o’Lantern
I didn’t notice at all! D must be either a dragon or a devil.
D has a barbed tail, so I’m guessing Devil… I could be an Ibex, I guess… Only Fearless Leader knows for sure…
Beeyouteeful colours! Pancha rocks!
