Shaenon: Nigel the Anti-Gravity Ferret is 100% Jeff’s fault.
Channing: I am shocked, just shocked, that you would think that the furry animal in a strange costume was somehow my creation.
Unity did not kill 100% of the non-main cast people in this comic. Which ones remain alive is left as an exercise in speculation, or perhaps for future storylines.
I’m betting Louis is still alive, or at least that Unity didn’t eat him. Sweetheart probably has to force her to eat her vegetables.
Has Unity ever expressed reluctance to eat something?
Per Mya, below, Louis being eaten is canon. http://skin-horse.com/comic/all-soft/
I know that some part of Unity (1) eating a (2) sentient (3) radiation cloud should be striking me as cause for concern, but….nope, kind of drawing a blank.
It’s canon that Plasma Adam and Agent Blue were killed taking Unity down when she went feral, before she joined Skin Horse. It’s not specifically mentioned whether she ate him or not, though.
Is that one of the bonus stories? I remember it was mentioned in the comic proper that Unity killed previous members of Skin Horse but I didn’t think they were named.
Chibis!
Also, is “counterpane” a reference?

Thank you!
I’m fairly sure that UNITY ate the previous team leader—and I want to say got a leg from him or something?—but there could have been turnover between Sweetheart’s arrival and UNITY’s.
Maybe Unity got a leg up from the previous team leader.
I just love the fact that in the Skin Horse universe, “Nigel the Anti-Gravity Ferret” can be a thing.
As a house!weasle servant (known to the public as ‘a person who owns five ferrets’) I’m absolutely certain that Nigel survived. They live through the most bizarre things, and besides which ferrets are probably stringy and tough.
So, right. Nigel made it. Yep.
Don’t *make* me create a NIGEL LIVES bumper-sticker for my car…..
It says he was on loan from Counterpane, so it follows that he was recalled there before UNITY could eat him. Or after, if she ate him and he survived. He’s probably still jetpacking in the EU.
You are, it turns out, CORRECT
I remember them from the training film!
Is… is it allowed for Sweetheart to be this cute, here? Could be a health hazard.
“I am shocked, just shocked, that you would think that the furry animal in a strange costume was somehow my creation.”
You’re gonna have to be more specific than that.
I like Nigel & the little guy from Brooklyn!
I sense a flashback or series: “Untold Tales Of Skin Horse”!
This could lead to a whole series of spin-offs. Skin Horse: Los Angeles, Skin Horse: New Orleans and Skin Horse: Portland…
Skin Horse: Special Victims Unit, Skin Horse: Law & Order, Skin Horse: Criminal Minds.
tune: “Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” Johnny Marks, 1949
Nigel the floating ferret
Has an anti-grav machine
It’s a backpack—you wear it
It looks super-duper keen
All of the other ferrets
Wish that they were floating, too
But, unlike Nigel, they don’t
Work for Counterpane EU
Then one dreadful day he worked
With the Skin Horse team
Once they captured U.N.I.T.Y.
Nigel was no longer seen
What has become of Nigel?
Is he in her hall of hats?
Or does the Frettchen hover
O’er the Alexanderplatz?
The Burp panel *needs* to be a wallpaper! Pweeease? (big Dondi eyes, followed by copious amounts of Visine)
I think the fans are demanding something involving Nigel the Anti-Gravity Ferret. The name alone is AMAZING.
“Counterpane” is like six kinds of genius right there. Love that name.
Also, two messages to the folks who’ve commented about wanting to see these characters again:
1) I agree wholeheartedly, and
2) Have you read the bonus story in Volume One?
The Land of Counterpane
by Robert Louis Stevenson
When I was sick and lay a-bed,
I had two pillows at my head,
And all my toys beside me lay,
To keep me happy all the day.
And sometimes for an hour or so
I watched my leaden soldiers go,
With different uniforms and drills,
Among the bed-clothes, through the hills;
And sometimes sent my ships in fleets
All up and down among the sheets;
Or brought my trees and houses out,
And planted cities all about.
I was the giant great and still
That sits upon the pillow-hill,
And sees before him, dale and plain,
The pleasant land of counterpane.
Is this canon? I figured M had been front desk far longer than Sweetheart had been around.
Moustachio has been in the building since before any of these agents were born (or created, whatever). That doesn’t necessarily mean he was the receptionist the whole time.

Louis has been referenced before.
