Magazine Illo
Shaenon: Unused illustration for my college alumni magazine. It was for a story on “cool courses.” The most awesome part is that my alma mater now has courses on comics. Back when I was a student, we made our own comics courses, dammit! (I really did. In senior year a friend and I created a student-taught course on comics as literature. She’s now an editor at King Features Syndicate and I do my thing. So, hey, career builder.)
Channing: In fits and starts, the medium gains legitimacy.
Is that Prof. Jones?
Didn’t you once say you went to Vassar?
I did!
In the Black Cinema panel, I see Sylvester McCoy in the background. Has Tigerlily made herself the villain of a Doctor Who story? (Come to think of it, I want to see Sylvester McCoy rap battle now.)
I thought Scott McCloud’s “Understanding Comics” gave the art form legitimacy, Channing.
