I’m guessing Boilerplate is in a giant leaking container of oil in the basement, right next to all the THRUSH and KAOS tech too advanced to reveal, even today… I used to work for KAOS but about all I ever got to do was book reviews…
I hope Moustachio gets back home, soon. Hitty is nice, but lacks 8-track and funky springs…

Nah, Boilerplate and some friends nabbed a time machine and spent some time in the 22nd century fighting the Reptoid invaders. They later went back to the Crystal Palace exhibition to try and prevent the War from breaking out, but paradox and an evil Boilerplate from an alternate future foiled their plans. After that, things got complicated.

Sounds like a month in Marvel Comics!

KAOS was/is? the radio station in Olympia WA I was at for a while. Fun, but hardly evil at all…

RKO stands for Radio Keith Orpheum. But they never say what frequency, or what to tell Keith Orpheum if you *do* radio him. I get an image of an ancient old man sitting by an ancient tube radio, still waiting… Tube gear can last for generations, left on…

RKO Pictures is what happened when Radio Corporation of America bought theatre chains Keith-Albee-Orpheum and Film Booking Office of America to create a market for their experimental talking movie system, RCA Photophone.

I wonder how the Narbons got along in the middle of all this.

For that matter, what did evil scientists do after that? Not make sentient creations? C’mon.

They’re “evil” they don’t care about the law!

Now I gotta wonder if this is a case of “unreliable witness”: after all, can we be sure as to who did the editing? The voiceover seemed rather lacking in Moustachioisms…

And indeed, note the panel-4 doubter in-universe. Also: this is what Mustachio uses for memories?

Well, that explains World War I, but what about World War II?

Well, we all know Hitler was out of his mind… hey, maybe he was a “mad”!

One of the Man from UNCLE books revealed that WWI was orchestrated by THRUSH, for its purposes… not because some useless, meaningless royal ballast got a bomb in his lap. Another mentioned that THRUSH was actually led by a triad of computers, clearly the product of Mad Science, since they are still unmatched today… They may not be mentioned here, but rest assured there are THRUSH lurking throughout all pre-1970-ish recent history, backing any side of the Old War that benefited them at the moment… and after abdicating leadership to computers, that probably means they *weren’t* backing the humans, often.

And of course UNCLE was being covertly manipulated by Megatron.

More important question: what color are those flowers in panel 1, pink or brown? :p

Specifically, the ones that grow in Flanders fields, row on row. So they’re red.

Colorized? Dear God, does that mean Ted Turner has access to Recall, Inc. tech?

Yes, commodorejohn, and now that you’ve pointed out that fact, we’re all in danger from the Agents of Ted. I hope you’re proud of yourself.

More seriously, the tone of this was a sort of propagandized “march of history” style. Whoever the narrator is has something in mind.

Mme Prescott? Any relationship to a Dave Prescott Davenport?

Given how tightly the storyline is woven, I’d say the odds are somewhere between “probably” and “certainly”. I’m surprised Helen and Dave haven’t shown up more often before this.

That was my immediate thought as well. Given how quick on the uptake Shaenon & Jeff’s fans usually are, I’m kind of surprised that nobody posted about the “Prescott” thing until 1:22 pm.
