Mainbocher!
Shaenon: Yes, yes, it’s more sketches. Someone requested Tip in the stolen Mainbocher from “Tin Soldier,” so here it is. Also Unity with some cocoa.
Channing: That really is a beautiful dress Tip stole. I love the final design. Me, I just had to write the word “Mainbocher” and Shaenon did the rest. How do you even pronounce that, anyway? Is the “ch” hard or soft?
“Who’s a good brain? You are! Yes you are!”
AAAAAAHHHH!!! Exactly what I was thinking! “Whoooooozagoodbrain? Why, YOU are!”
Also, Tip looks hot, and Unity looks warm; it’s the best of both worlds. ^__^
Ooooooh, I’m the one who asked for Tip in the Mainbocher! (But maybe I’m not the only one?) I can’t wait to get my set.
I just can’t get out of my head all the images of the “Quiet and dignified life” those heads in Futurama lived…

Mainbocher, Mainbocher, oh what a dress!
Looks good on Tip, I must confess!
Mainbocher, Mainbocher, looking so fine,
So Wilkin can deal with stress!
Mainbocher, Mainbocher, color of wine,
Made out of silk, lovely design!
Mainbocher, Mainbocher, gauntlets to match,
On Wilkin, it looks divine!
The zom-bie, she wants some cocoa!
And Doc Lee, she wants a brain!
And ‘Lily, boots that are go-go
And ruling the world from Peru to Spain!
Mainbocher, Mainbocher, strapless and sleek,
Looking so good, looking so chic!
Mainbocher, Mainbocher, making me weak,
So …
Wear it once more,
Pose for a sketch!
Bravo, encore!
Elegant Tip
Will fill up a Sun-day strip!
Unity under a patchwork quilt is just adorable… until you remember…
One of these days I really need to read/reread the Oz books so I can spot some of the more obscure references in SH.
I want that dress, no I need that dress, will you draw one for me in a size (European) 16 please
Nice Gravatar – I’ve been watching the Cartoonists store – 3 more Chickweed books to be released soon.
It truly is entertaining the wide-ranges of gravatar images i’ve been seeing lately.
Speaking of which, I’m intrigued by yours, but I don’t recognize it. My favorites are Frank’s many mice—his own creations—and War’s elegant calligraphic head, of unknown origin.
Random pick since I RSS many webcomics.
That image is from the comic “Scenes from a multiverse” http://amultiverse.com/
its a hard comic to describe – imagine a sequential far-side where the next part of a sequence may be weeks or months later.
I know… it’s so much easier to understand than his work on Goats… 😛

moo.
thats the fun part – no pressure of a linear story, so you get random developments or twists. I never expected the “my daddy is now a rabbit” to last as long as it has for instance.
Last Christmas I gave you my brain / but now it’s in a plane, so never again.
Main Rousseau Bocher was French, so his design label uses French pronunciations. The first syllable is pronounced like “men”, the second is pronounced like “bow”, and the third is “shay”. Menbowshay.
(Though if you’re just pronouncing his first and last name, not the design label, the “n” is silent, so it’s “Meh Bowshay”.)
Nope, American. And pronounced Maine-bocker.
