Hey, Railway Thumbnails!
Shaenon: Because you demanded it, more thumbnails. I am increasingly of the opinion that Violet’s braid is my most dynamic character.
Channing: I have no idea what the hell is up with that braid. It’s probably one of those weird Avatar things that allow you to plug your brain into a pterodactyl. My grasp of Avatar is a bit fuzzy on account of my not having seen it, so maybe nobody plugs their brain into a pterodactyl in that film, which would be a bit of a loss, honestly. For me, the last real Avatar was the player-character hero of Ultima IV-VI. Old school gaming, represent!
What were we talking about again?
Shaenon: We were talking about how I am awesome at drawing hairdos.
Let’s talk about Dr. Lee’s hairdo next!
That film actually does involve a fair number of people plugging their brains into pterodactyls via their ponytails.
Wait, do you guys mean that the braid is NOT the key to figuring out the secret of who or what is controlling Violet?? I had figured that she plugged it into something to recharge and to calibrate herself to whomever was controlling her that shift.
Shaenon: Is Fang, Vicka’s harido, going to make another appearance?
*hairdo*
While I agree that The Avatar of Virtue is awesome, I’d have to say that the “last real Avatar” is either Aang or Korra.
Seconded!
I certainly hope Korra isn’t the last Avatar; that’d have some unsettling implications for the balance of the elements!
Hairstyle as adjustable fiberoptic camera – it perhaps moves ‘on its own’ to make covert observations.
Also perhaps ultra-fine wires for the antenna – remember that VB was very relieved wi-fi and cell phone were constant.
Man, the thumbnail version of that last strip is actually even better. I think it’s Violet’s expression.
Avatar has people plugging brains into pterodactyls.
The hero wins by plugging his brain into the biggest pterodactyl.
Actually, he won by transferring his mind from his original human body to his clone blue catperson body via the tree network and winning the hand of the blue catperson princess, but why quibble over small details?
(And for those of you who haven’t watched Avatar by now, these comments make perfect sense in context. Trust me! -_^)
Another thought on the pigtail behavior – mabye it’s animatronic like those cat-ears they are selling now, and the matching tail that i’ve seen demo vids for.
What, Jeff, no love for Martian Dreams, Black Gate, or Serpent’s Isle? Piffle on thee!
