Skin Horse, Framed
Shaenon: David Wells (no relation to Jeff) has gone the route of all discerning art collectors and hung his Skin Horse originals. David owns both a Kickstarter bonus sketch and an original strip, which he now has displayed “on the way to the bathroom…the MOST traveled route.” Thank, David! We are honored.
Channing: Beautiful! And I’m glad to hear that you’ll be thinking of us every time you use the john.
…that didn’t come out right.
Aaaand I’m back! (Thanks everyone for filking in for me.)
(TUNE: “Bad Moon Rising”, Creedence Clearwater Revival)
I see a bathroom, inviting …
I start to saunter down the hall …
I see some artwork and writing …
I see it framed upon the wall!
See what David reads!
Ignore your bladder’s needs!
By the bathroom, for your eyes!
This is a sight to amaze me!
This is enough to make me flip!
It’s from a comic, so crazy!
Signed by the artist, it’s a strip!
Plus a bonus sketch!
A zombie playing fetch!
By the bathroom, for your eyes!
heeee’s back everbody! bathroom style
Welcome back, Ed. I hope you had a good vacation. I’m posting the filk that mysteriously wouldn’t post yesterday, and then I’m taking a breather. Two filks a day, plus Monsters of the Week, is work. I don’t know how you do it.

Unity
Was in me
Through her black nanite goo
So I kissed
That fly miss
‘Cause U. wanted to
I was made to be
Temporarily
A lesbian!
A lesbian!
Unity made me
Temporarily
A lesbian!
A lesbian!
Violet Bee
Don’t seduce me
You’re not my style
No merlot
‘Cause—nips or no—I find you pretty vile
I was made to be
Temporarily
A lesbian!
A lesbian!
Though I kissed Marcie
Accidentally
Not lesbian!
Not lesbian!
No date, no way, no date, no date tonight, no!
No date, no way, no date, no date tonight, no!
I wish my house layout allowed for hanging comics on the way to the bathroom.
STRONG double sided tape. I had a buddy once who coated his walls and cielings w/ CD cases that way.
I’m waiting for mine to arrive before I decide how to frame and hang. The description for the Disco originals talks about the multiple versions – pencils, inks, and thumbnails. To frame them together may take some thinking for composition. Separate like David’s framing, or an overlap indicating the evolution….
Then to decide whether to hang it at home or take it to work.
wow. now i kinda wish i had enough money for an origional. and a frame.
It did cut into my discretionary funds for a while. And I have no idea the size of anything, so frames still need to be purchased.
When you think it thru – an Original (normal kind) via the store is $50, so when you add up the extras – its pretty close to getting them separately – PLUS its the timing to support some of my favorite webcomics.
I forwarded this to the my friend who framed this for me. She was giddy to see it up on your site. I think you might have a new convert!
