Nick/Violet Sketches
Shaenon: I’ve been drawing Nick driving Violet practically since Skin Horse launched. I love developing characters’ body language. Fortunately, we ended up not letting Nick cuss through Violet.
Channing: Watching how the exact same body changes when someone else is inhabiting it is my absolute favorite part of Violet, and is in the running for being one of my favorite things in this entire strip.
Now a part of me wants to see violet being run by Sweetheart. Or perhaps Mustachio?
Machines run by machines? How perverse.
This sort of thing is one of the reasons I love Doppelganger Gambit so much. Three Daves, and you can tell ’em apart just by how they stand…
(The catchy soundtrack is one of the other reasons.)
Now I’m going to have the Battle Anthem running through my head all day. Which is awesome, so thanks!
Oh snap… a grrl who knows what a Waldo is. I’m in love with you all over again, Shaenon. 😀
But where’s the snapshot of him playing with Violet’s breasts?
No way…
mnem
Now I wanna see her operated by Ripley…
I don’t remember if I knew what they were before reading my good ol’ two-book volume of “Waldo” and “Magic, Inc.”.
Nicklet looking at his fingers may be the most feminine I’ve seen Violet since her pre-St. Charlie operator. Maybe ever. The funniest thing is that it’s also the most Artie-esque I’ve ever seen Violet.
Nick in the gynoid body fondling Dr. Lee… now that brings whole new meaning to “teledildonics”! ^_^
This does of course raise the question of who was driving her when she looked as adorable as in the sketch where she’s sitting on the floor (Violet/Nick is adorable in an entirely different way :-)) or as sexy as in the desk-sit where she is rightly enchanting Tip… and is she about to poiunce on Ginny in the sketch under that?
looks like Tip in that one to me.
Looks to me like Nick’s looking for the courage to try the old “oh I was just extending my flaps and my wingtip ended up around your shoulders” maneuver.
Why not, nyao? I’d pounce Dr. Lee in a heartbeat–she’s cute! {purr}
… youi know I meant “pounce”, right?
(TUNE: “The Wall”, Pink Floyd)
Got bipedal locomotion,
Lacking some anatomy …
He’s showing some intense emotion,
At the movies, next to Lee …
Hey! Skin Horse!
Nick is driving Bee!
It’s not sick,
It’s just a … waldo driven by Nick!
The Wall was the name of the entire film, not any particular track from it.
Assuming you meant Another Brick in the Wall, we still don’t have an answer to which. There are three tracks by the name.
The lack of repetition implies it’s not Pt. 2, but it’s not clear whether you wanted Pt. 1 or Pt. 3 which have different rhythm and meter from each other.
You do know you are very much appreciated and loved for putting out this wonderful comic Every. Single. DAY. A guaranteed bright spot to my mornings.
…A waldo that can blush.
On the first page, is the third picture Nick/Violet a nude study? Body language looks like Nick while being in shock, at least to me.
Meanwhile, it looks as though the reverse side of the sheets has a lot of Ginny drawings (plus Tip and Tiger Lily on the second sheet).
