Now Tip gives Alice, who’s a Colt Commando thirty-eight,
Off to Mendoza, plus the ammo that he’s got,
Who says an-thro-po-mor-phi-za-tion’s not
What he does a lot!
Now Lee is holding on to Nick, who’s on her iPhone app,
And from Mendoza, Sweetheart gets a phone right back …
“Be sure to call if they all attack!”
But she’s got no thumbs … really dumb!
On a train, where zombies roam, where zombies rule!
Listen how they moan, see how they drool!
Let’s all try to not die!
Now there is Unity, who likes the watch of Doctor Lee,
Which tells the time and date and temp’rature, you see!
It also works as a small TV,
And an EKG!
And Sweetheart’s telling ev’ryone they’ve got to focus now!
And Lee gives Unity a nice undeath day gift …
And in the background, Tip’s looking miffed
‘Cause she took his hat! Looking phat!
On a train, where zombies lurch, where zombies stroll!
Come on, team, we’re on a roll!
Save the train!
Off topic, Ed, but ever since your “Feelin’ Groovy” filk, I think of it whenever I see a young lady looking particularly mammalian. If I ever vocalise it, I’ll be in a lot of trouble…
Anthro ≠ Andro.
Anthro(po)- (from Greek Άνθρωπος, “human”), a prefix meaning human, humanoid, or humanlike, especially with regards to sentience.
Andro- (from Greek Άντρας, “male”), a prefix meaning male, man, or masculine.
Two ways to take that.
One, he was being ironic in his commentary, as well as warning Tip he doesn’t have the attachment to weaponry that some of his peers exhibit.
Two, which I find more likely given his skill sets and where he is, Mendoza will not alter the gun to be self-aware, mobile, and at least vaguely humanoid in shape.
Altering the gun is just wasteful. All you need to do is create a small humanoid drone to hold the gun and fire it. That way you can multipurpose the drone with various tool and weapon attachments, without having to build an intelligence into each one.
Think of it as a Swiss army gnome.
Any plan where Unity gets a new hat is a good plan.
Heh. “I won’t anthropomorphise HER”.
Wrenchy wouldn’t like it.
I can’t believe I didn’t catch that until you pointed it out.
And I in turn was too busy being amused by the first panel to notice Unity wearing Tip’s hat in the last panel.
He ALMOST made it to the end of the sentence.
Lots of things are female without being human.
Um, are you setting us up for a straight line, ’cause … Uh, other than animals and plants, no there aren’t….
Ships, planes, cars… Most forms of transportation, guitars and maybe guns.
Ascribing femininity to inanimate objects is a form of anthropomorphizing.
That was the straight line. The existence of female animals and plants was my point. You guys all know what “anthropomorphize” means, right??

I only got stupid cologne for my undeath day. REAL SUBTLE GUYS!
“Okay, but I won’t anthropomorphize her.”
But… you just… you… oh, never mind.
Well, technically, he gynopomorphized her, so he’s still okay.
