A while back, when I revealed that Jeff is totally a My Little Pony fan, some of you probably doubted me. You were all, “Jeff might say he likes My Little Pony, but he probably doesn’t walk the walk as well as he talks the talk. I bet he doesn’t even have a favorite pony, like for example Twilight Sparkle.”
Well, you doubters can step back. Behold Observatory Hill, Jeff’s MLP fanfic on Equestria Daily. I have to admit that it inspired me to draw illustrations. In addition to the above, here is Moonage Daydream, who is, like, the biggest pony rock star in all of Equestria.

I was nervous about posting these, because the quality of pony fan art is freakishly high.
Also because I drew Moonage Daydream kind of quickly, and I’m still not sure if I like the musical lightning bolt for his cutie mark, or if I should’ve gone with a lightning bolt over his eye and stardust on his rump. This is an issue of immense concern.
No kidding. There’s stuff out there that looks like stills from the actual show, plus pro-level fanworks in almost every conceivable other style.

My mother adopted “Derpy” in a recent charity fundraiser. Together, they raised $7200 for the local Library.

Oh god this is adorable and perfect except for one little thing that… I have to admit, I’m just such a pony nerd that it needs pointing out… you forgot Spike’s… well spikes… on the top of his head… sorry XC…. But other then that, this is wonderful!

Great story, Jeff. In technique, it’s among the best I’ve read, and one of the most enjoyable as well. Are you planning to write the sequel you foreshadowed?

Didn’t know Jeff had written a ponyfic (I discovered EqD only a couple of weeks ago), but definitely going to read this.
Also, this leads me to thinking that there is no MLP in the narboniverse because, being the bronies as dedicated as they are (it still amazes me), if only one of them was a mad scientist there would be so many live ponys walking around that even all the black ops agencies together couldn’t do anything to hide. (Also Unreality Denial wouldnt work properly for them, that’s for sure

My first impression was that Unity had been injected into a pony and was sharing sammiches with some sort of mutated lizard that had probably been invented by Helen Narbon. Then I’m looking at the telescope and I immediately think, stupid place to put an observatory with spotlights nearby, you’re not going to be able to see the high magnitude stars! But then again, I just spent over an hour on the catwalk in front of a 3.5 meter telescope at midnight this morning while my wife bounced a laser off the moon, so my thinking might be a little suspect. Then again, my thinking is pretty much always suspect.
I was reading a Pony tumblr and loaded up Skin Horse, then had to check to make sure I had.

I am completely unsurprised that Jeffrey’s favorite pony is Twilight Sparkle, since she’s the MLP equivalent of Sweetheart. (They’re my favorite characters in their respective series as well, so I fully understand the thinking.)
