Though it’s still a bit iffy whether Pavane actually exists. Gavotte apparently only mentioned having a daughter, but never talked about her, so we don’t know if she had ever mentioned her by name. Sweetheart only met Pavane while she was in VR, so she’s not even sure it was real. And Tony and Merc could have been the ones who hacked into the VR, which would explain how they would know that Pavane and Sweetheart had ever met at all.
Then again, there may actually BE a Planet Lovetron; Pavane might actually live there (which would certainly explain why the prim and proper Gavotte never spoke of her), and she might be the “golden ones” that Tony spoke of. She could have hacked the VR and also have been in contact with Tony, which would also explain how he would know Pavane and Sweetheart had met.
Cherenkov radiation is what happens when a particle exceeds the localized phase velocity of light. Its pink variant, Heaviside radiation, named after Oliver Heaviside of course, occurs when fast particles are just too groovy to CARE what the localized phase velocity of light happens to be. Think of Cherenkov radiation as a sonic boom, and Heaviside radiation as a Hendrix guitar chord.
Huh. Back when Trip was strapped to the Groovitron, I thought he was going to go hopping through space and time, Quantum Leap-style. I figured that Pavane would be one of his roles. While that obviously didn’t happen, it’s interesting to see her come up again…
Oh just wait a minute! Here’s an even more relevant comment from Pavane:
“Buck up and have faith, and one of these days I can call y’all home to Lovetron.” http://skin-horse.com/comic/said-sweetheart-5/
So there *is* a cosmognothics/Groovitron/Pavane/Lovetron/TigerLily connection as people were speculating when the Groovitron showed up!
Oh man, there’s wheels within wheels, and then there’s Skin Horse.
On a side-note, I just realized that it’s been nine years since Gold Bug was first mentioned, and we still don’t know who [he/she/it/they] [is/are], what [his/her/its/their] game is, or how [he/she/it/they] [relates/relate] to all the other mysterious chessmasters running around, despite hundreds of maybe-clues and possibly-leads. We’ve got just enough information to fill the wall with pins spend the next decade driving ourselves crazy trying to figure out where to tie the strings. That’s some serious Room 237 shit right there.
There’s, like, at least three conversations going on there at once.
For reference, Sweetheart’s nonsense: http://skin-horse.com/comic/ive-got-2/
Thank you!
Still wondering what happened to Gavotte.
She’s almost certainly somewhere watching and saying some classy version of “Just as planned.”
Pavane is reportedly Gavotte’s daughter.

I did post a reply here, but apparently the links to appropriate strips have left it stuck in moderation. Basically, yes, Pavane exists.
I really like the pink glow they are irradiating over everyone around them. It’s like Cherenkov radiation, only groovier.

Does this mean they’re going up, up, up, past the Russell Hotel?
(Obscure references R us)
That’s pretty ameowsing!

Tip, I mean. Goodness, my brain is fried.
Blame spellcheck.
I think “Trip” would be a good nickname, for slang reasons, for Tip when he’s been Groovitroned.

This panel! It’s got me going oboy! oboy! oboy! and then UNITY’s line is just icing on the cake. Thanks for making my day.
Furry Mad Scientists sure get bent out of shape at the reminder that they’re not the only paranormal entities around. ^_~
I don’t know where you’re going to find one normal entity around here, much less a pair of normals.
^O^
Why doesn’t this surprise me?
I was half expecting Tigerlily to be involved too- although we can’t rule that out. If not, they should really be introduced.
Well, I’ll be doggone.
The possums are going to a “funkier” place? I think that means their plan stinks.
Wait, so they’re not headed to Carcosa? Darn it, there’s another theory parboiled.
The rest of them should still probably get out of the way of the launch, though.

Pavane definitely exists. She gets referenced by name in a conversation with Moustachio (http://skin-horse.com/comic/todays-comic-404/), and then elaborated on in the aftermath (http://skin-horse.com/comic/captain-brams-old-cabin/). Although, I notice that Gavotte doesn’t actually directly confirm or deny anything. It’s definitely implied, though.
Skin Horse in a nut-shell: The bees who talked to me when I blew up America with a volcano!
Well Pavane *is* right but…
