And what if Tip had said “Yeah, I bet you get asked this all the time” before reading the other side? Artie’s whole “mindreader” schtick is kind of annoyingly presented.
Note that he waited until Tip started to respond before telling him to turn the card over. If Tip hadn’t responded correctly, he could just have taken it back before Tip noticed there was anything on the other side.
I agree that Artie’s predictive abilities sometimes make Hari Seldon look like an old lady in a tent with a large glass paperweight and a deck of tarot cards with the scary ones removed, but he could probably get away with this one.
I need one of those cards.
