Gee, Sweetheart! Wouldn’t you rather Tip thought of that angle *while there’s still time to do something about it*??? o_O

I’m glad to see I’m not the only who thought of that. Mind you, I assumed that the plan hinged on Panoptica being otherwise occupied while it was hatched.

At least Tip has cleared up how little time has actually elapsed in-universe since September.

Waitaminit – could Panoptica possibly defend herself against a fully armed and operational Tip mojo? It’s time for Skin Horse to break out their secret weapon.

Probably. She can read minds, remember.

On the other hand, this may be a case of “when you gaze long into the mojo, the mojo also gazes into you.”

I’m not sure the mojo is cancelled out if the subject knows what Tip’s thinking. I suspect most women who’ve spent any time with Tip have a pretty good idea what he’s thinking…

Given Tip’s mojo and knowledge of psychology, reading his mind might be like plugging directly into a nuclear power plant.

Yeah, but Panoptica has met Tip, and has had exactly zero reaction as far as anyone can tell. She may have *really* good shields.

If he’s been in the same suit for two days, imagine how the others must feel about it.

Probably not a big deal to the others. I figure their “stank” benchmark is Unity, and her skin suit must be pretty ripe all the time, regardless of what clothes she puts on it. It’s more of an issue for Tip because 1) he’s used to changing his clothes 2 or 3 times a day, and 2) it’s a man’s suit.

There’s the story I got from a teacher, about a guy on a camping trip who wore the same T-shirt twelve days running. He wore it one way three days, turned it around, wore it that way another three days, turned it inside-out, wore it that way for another three days, then turned it around again and wore it that way for yet another three days…by which time nobody would ride in the same canoe with him.

Makes you wonder, if he was near water (to be able to go canoeing), why didn’t he wash (even without soap) his shirt in the water? It may not have been like washing it at home, but it would have been better than nothing.

That depends on what he looked like with nothing …

Also, that depends on the water. Fresh water can harbor some surprisingly nasty things.

As long as it’s flowing water, you’re generally pretty safe — at least from microscopic nasties. And to be fair, a 12-day-old shirt harbors some pretty nasty stuff itself.

OTOH, my husband and I went cruising with some friends, including a guy who we found out later hadn’t washed or brushed his teeth at all the entire week, except in salt water (i.e. the ocean). Nobody on the boat noticed him smelling rank, or his teeth looking furry, or anything like that. Based on other things about this person, we suspect he might be a demi-god. So, Tip may feel dirty, but it’s entirely possible no one else has noticed.

Like I said, for Tip it’s not that he feels dirty. It’s not being able to change clothes that bothers him. This may well be the longest he’s been in the same clothes since he left the military.

Panoptica may have little defense against robots. Cinderblock, on the other hand…

Yeah, I was gonna say. If you’re sending combat robots against someone, them being immune to mind reading isn’t exactly the main thing I’d be looking for.

Well, they are combat robots. Granted, #3’s buzzsaw arm wouldn’t do much against Cinder, but both #1 and #2 have some sort of gun as an appendage. Not to mention that Cinder doesn’t seem to move — or think — too quickly, so the robots also have speed as an advantage.

Maybe, but then again the fact that they were in the brig in the first place argues that Cinder and company already proved themselves the better fighters in Round 1. Maybe surprise and initiative being on their side rather than against them will make the difference in Round 2 but then again maybe not.

But then again, the SH team, along with Captain Bubbles and her crew, are arguably good — as in decent. And from their perspective, the AG-I team were supposed to be good. So it would have gone against their natures (well, all of them except Unity) to actually harm the AG-I team. Allowing themselves to be captured doesn’t necessarily prove them worse fighters. It does, however, suggest that they are, in fact, the more decent people.

On the other hand, AG-I has now proven that they are not actually good. Pan may not be the one giving the orders, but if you know the right thing to do and don’t do it, you’re just as bad as someone who is intentionally evil. So it’s possible that the gloves are off now. Although I have to say, I still can’t picture Sweetheart or Tip intentionally harming them, despite Tip’s having been in the Army.
