well she loved it, isnt that the point?
OK, suddenly I have a horrible feeling I don’t remember the details of this series as well as I thought I did. Who’s Aimee? @_@
I’m pretty sure she’s the mission control for the band of “heroes” Nick worked for while SH was dissolved?
I thought that was Panoptica, but maybe Aimee is her street name.
I absolutely did not get the feeling his relationship with Ponoptica was an open and forthright one. But then again we never saw him with Stupidmammalnameicanneverremember-Girl.
…or was it Kate?
Oh, I was afraid I was the only one who had no idea who he was talking to here.
I want to say that Aimee’s the coastguard helicopter pilot mentioned in one of Nick’s last blog posts. Don’t quote me on that, though.
I stand corrected. That was Georgie.
Nope. That was Georgie.
Google: “Your search – Aimee site:http://skin-horse.com – did not match any documents.”
That’s weird, I got a result.
Of course, it was this discussion about how none of us know who Aimee is, but still.
Search engines won’t be able to tell if she’s come up in the comic itself, as it’s just an image to them. We’ll have no trouble finding this comic if someone mentions the name Aimee again, though.
You’d think that a search engine for THIS comic might have that feature. You’d have to be using Chrome with the trans-temporal plug-in, but still…
Didn’t Nick have a blog at one point? I can’t seem to find it right now. Maybe it says who Aimee is?
I’m mystified. Thought of Panoptica and the helicopter pilot as possibilities, but these comments shoots them down.
Take it from the other end. What acquaintance—what female acquaintance—would Nick be willing to open up to, on such a personal matter, in this way?
I absolutely KNOW that I’ve seen one other strip where Nick is talking to a confidante, but danged if I can find it.
Baby steps. Well, rotor quarter turns,
He forgot to mention it was origami, how did he fold it? Did Ira do that for him?
Ira has a very particular set of skills, skills he has acquired over a very long career. Skills that makes him a nightmare for people like you. If you let his daughter go now, that’ll be the end of it. he will not look for you, he will not pursue you. But if you don’t, he will look for you, he will find you, and he will kill you.
Uh, we are still talking about origami, right? Because I wouldn’t put other sorts of skills past Ira.
That assumes that he can remember who you are…or that he has a daughter…or that he has skills…
Um…what were we talking about?
Very careful foil movements
The movements would have to be careful, elsewise his foil gift would become a foiled gift!
Perhaps it is is merely a sign that Nick’s French needs work. He’s talking to his “mon aimee”.
Nick is very good at the “secret” part of secret santa.
Just an old gum wrapper, Aimee,
I am thinking most of Doctor Lee,
Unicorn upon her desk she’s watching,
Origami, as you see.
Ira did it by rappelling
Down into the Skin Horse mob.
Well I know he won’t remember,
Who had put him up to do the job.
Thank you, Aimee, I may never
Share this kind of thoughts again.
But, why, I’m sharing this with Aimee?
Maybe she convinced me she’s a friend
—from “Just Before the Battle Mother.”
I applaud thee, sir*!
*Or the honorific of thy choice, if it isn’t “sir.”
It ain’t madam.
Well now I’m all bummed. Ginny would have, well, swooned if Nick had given that right to her. She loves it, but as far as Nick goes it’s like a step backwards – since as far as she knows, Nick’s gotten her bubkis.
Yeah, I got the impression Virginia thought the gift was from Ira.
