Sorry, Artie. You bored even me with that little monologue. And I like you.

So much angst in one little gerbil…

He gets this from hanging around with Dave and Helen.

Sorry, Artie has always been his own worst enemy. He’s a little, furry ball of neuroses wrapped in a superiority complex tied together by an identity crisis. Prey that he never tries to ‘do the right thing’ for you. It doesn’t work out well.

I’m surprised the cat didn’t fall asleep. My cat does that all the time when I try to explain quantum physics to her.

It matters whether the cat is hungry or not.

It seems to me that Artie’s strategizing underemphasizes the risks of literally dying as compared to figuratively dying. Unless Artie is confident that a rattus ex rattus will happen whenever he needs one.

Artie has faced down Dr. Narbon, as well as falling (or rather jumping) from a flying island, and has survived both (along with untold other less-risky things).

I think he has a poor frame of reference for what events might be genuinely hazardous to his life and limb.

I suspect that his “poor frame of reference for what events might be genuinely hazardous” is either engineered or possibly just a side effect of his upbringing. I mean he was both created by and raised by a Narbon so how do you parse out what is genetic and what is environment?

Yup. For a ‘bright’ guy, he confuses real existential threat with mere embarassment
(he could probably spell it better!)….he’s too tied up in words to realistically
deal with …..admittedly a strange situation. He worries about HIS personal
emotional discomfort. ‘Me, me, me, meeeeeee….’ I fault him due to experience.

So, Gygax got it right when he separated Intelligence and Wisdom?

Nothing to comment on this comic, but I found a picture of a real-life dog in safety goggles and it immediately made me think of SH: https://doggos-with-jobs.tumblr.com/post/190684734305/sampson-is-a-service-dog-for-a-researcher-who

And he has a lab coat! By all rights he should be a Skin Horse character.

Much like Nick with Dr. Lee, Sergio would like Artie if he were naked.

To the sufficiently enlightened, there is no such thing as a simple scenario.

Artie is clearly his own worst enemy.

And the ironic aspect is that Sergio already saw both of his forms in an alternate dimension. And mentioned meeting alternate dimension Artie already.

So, Artie should have some self doubt here about whether he actually needs to worry about this, because Sergio has probably already seen his other form…and some concern that maybe his alternate self was even more attractive so….

    Oof.
