Someone compliments Shaenon & Jeff on publishing these at a specific time. The following day’s comic isn’t published at that time. Co-incidence, I’m sure.
All I can say I deeply appreciate all artists posting relatively early, as opposed to “whatever latest hour that can still be called date X somewhere on the globe, with a random variation so you never know what day it ends up being anywhere else”. Oh, and doubleplusthanks for Saturday – this is the only strip I get to read any time I would actually have some time to read something, like on Saturdays…
These days it’s rare for me to get to bed before 1am, and last night my wife wanted to do Eye of Ashara, so I’m just eating breakfast now. I don’t like being unemployed, but I’m always fully rested in the morning.
Hm! This implied several things:
1. Aimee sorta likes the Baron after all! I wonder if the colts will look more like Mommy or Daddy? ^_^
2. Since she does have eavesdropping powers here one presumes that she knows all about what’s been going on.
3. Her response to the Baron’s promise indicates that she think there’s still things to be discussed where the crown is concerned. Perhaps it isn’t the moot point I’d thought it had become. @_@
4. This in turn implies that maybe Lovelace was *permitted* to copy the crown and that her obtaining it like that was social engineering on Aimee’s part. Perhaps Aimee used her/Nick’s l33t hacking madskilz to insert a few surprises into the crown that she can spring when she wishes. =^_^=
Her response to the Baron’s promise indicates that she think there’s still things to be discussed where the crown is concerned.
I’m not sure where you’re getting that from. I thought it indicated the exact opposite. (Which is not to say that necessarily there aren’t still things to discuss regarding the crown, just that Aimee has no desire to discuss them.)
Meh. My phrasing may have been more careless then it should have been. At the risk of sounding paradoxical, my feeling was that the fact that she responded to Baron’s promise like that meant she felt that people *would* bug her about the crown if she let them back which meant that she herself didn’t regard it as a dead issue that they would get tired of after they had rehashed it. Otherwise she could have just let Nick and Lovelace talk it out until they were sick of the topic as well and then let them back. Which in turn suggests that the crown is *not* a dead issue and that she doesn’t think either Nick or Lovelace are going to like how she handled it. Admittedly, I am piling inference on top of inference like Aetna on top of Vesuvius in this case so your mileage may vary. @_@
Well, if Baron M. is going to leave you like that, maybe you can unplug from the server and see what’ll happen if you put one of his hooves in a bucket of warm water…
I feel compelled to point out that, as Nick is a helicopter, such feats of dexterity are beyond him.
That said, the event in question would be interesting to observe.
That doesn’t look so much like a vaporization as a magical teleport. Note the lilac color and the star. I’m guessing Aimee has been spying on them, and teleported the Baron to her. (Or kicked him out of the VR. Who knows?)
Have I ever mentioned how much I appreciate you guys posting the new strip around midnight Eastern?
It’s even better at 2100hrs here on the west coast of North America.
Eh. I work 2nd shift, so getting it around 2300 coincides with my lunch. Which works just fine for me.

You just can’t compliment some people too much. It wasn’t in my GoComics email, either.

It reads just as well at breakfast for this first-shifter and has the honor of being number one in my queue.

it’s usually between 6 and 7 in the morning for me (GMT+1). So I wake up to skin horse, which is nice.
This strip is made of awesome!

Regarding that first point, I vote for centaurs and/or reverse centaurs.
I’ll second the vote for Centaurs. ^_^

Warm, salty water…
Electrical sparks and he has to remain in the server until repairs are made. He’s a robot, remember? (Rage-fueled desk incidents aside, of course.)
Precisely!
I feel compelled to point out that, as Nick is a helicopter, such feats of dexterity are beyond him.
That said, the event in question would be interesting to observe.
If Baron M. can do something biologically impossible on Miss Whimsey’s desk, then Nick can put a hoof in a bucket of warm water.
Do we even know that it is Aimee that vaporized the Baron?
That doesn’t look so much like a vaporization as a magical teleport. Note the lilac color and the star. I’m guessing Aimee has been spying on them, and teleported the Baron to her. (Or kicked him out of the VR. Who knows?)
Update: 5/26/17 strip happening later today. Its absence has been noticed.
With great power comes great desire not to talk about it ever.
