Not sure if I can handle a smart Unity. Someone please say to her “Blueberry waffles.”

I thought that was to cull her agressive responses by giving her a massive heada… oooh, I see what you mean

Nonono, losing the agressive tendencies is what GIVES her the headache.

Is it me or is the effect of the brains just starting to wear off by the last panel? Unity still seems to make sense, but her speech is drifting closer to her usual.

And if you want to guess at which method they are using, go for the least practical and most inefficient.

And usually the most awesome method, as well.

(TUNE: “You Keep Me Hangin’ On”, The Supremes)

     [CHORUS:]
      Unity, don’t be insane!
      Someone’s messin’ with your brain!
      It’s a plot, complicated
Just to make you think you’re mad!
      Sanity’s overrated,
So they’ll make you think you’re mad!

    Messages that cannot be,
Don’t make any sense at all!
Seems that only I can see
    The handwriting on the wall!
‘Cause alphabets and names make games,
    And ev’rybody has a name!
    Whoa-oh … [repeat CHORUS]

Welcome to St. Charlie’s, where Occam’s Razor is too dull to cut.

Actually, U.N.I.T.Y.’s last line could apply to thier entire lives.

But if someone or something can affect one zombie with neural waves, then how hard is it to affect *all* the zombies with the same technique?

      Zombies, superintelligent sled dogs…

I wouldn’t have called them super intelligent.

Hmm, okay, so there’s some entity able to mess with people’s minds to make them see things not just in St. Charlie, but also on the surface in Boston (the Moon message). But it doesn’t appear to have mind control. Still, when you can mess with what people see you can do all manner of fun things.

I don’t know anything about neural wave tweaking, but given the effects on Unity’s intelligence, can we PLEASE feed some of those “artificial brains” to our Politicians?

Its like that old joke about brain transplants – politician brains are 40 million an ounce – punchline along ‘you know how many politicans it takes to get an ounce of brains?’

-…so why is the politician’s brain so expensive?
        -never been used.

No way!! Politicians are less dangerous when stupid.

Whatever it is, it’s reading minds as well as writing in them.
This is exactly the sort of thing some mad genius would give as a gift to Stephen Hawking (for whatever mad reason he/she might have, like for instance, to get him to talk faster in that electronic voice he uses).

Reading minds isn’t that hard, after all Unity developed a device that translated thoughts to words so she could type when she ate those brains in New Orleans

If you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras. Unless you’re on the Serengeti.
