Yes, nothing frightening about the military nanobot superweapon who has literally killed and eaten the brains of innocent minor characters who lacked Plot Armor on a whim, and who also becomes a psychopathically detached and emotionless supergenius when she eats enough brains.
I mean, she can only infest you and hijack your body on a whim and has the moral compass of a hyperactive five year old! What’s to be afraid of? As long as her mentally unstable talking dog mother / lover is around to tell her not to eat her own friends / the people she works with, everything is fine!
And even when she’s not under direct supervision, it’s not like she’d infest and effectively mind-rape someone, even if she didn’t like them, right? Someone, like, say… the very mad scientist who created her, Dr. Lee? I mean, sure… it did happen that ONE time, but they’re totally cool now! What’s a little body invasion and hostile mind probing between friends?
You say that as if she took over Virginia’s body against her will.
Sure, the thought of it was terrifying, but Virginia knew it had to be done, and willingly went through it. After all, once Unity’s “essence” was drained and ready to be injected, Virginia had to actually inject it herself.
Remember that Unity -literally tried to kill her- earlier in that chapter. Multiple times! She only failed because of the failsafe conditioning Virginia put in her.
Virginia only “knew it had to be done” because she was on a botched mission for Anasigma, who also were coercing her with threat of death! If she refused to cooperate, she was going to have both A-Sig and Unity trying to kill her.
If Virginia was being coerced to have sex under threat of death, you’d clearly label that rape. But you’re trying to tell me that coerced possession under threat of death isn’t comparable?
I call bullshit.
Oh, let’s not forget that a little later in the chapter, Unity tricks Tigerlily into signing a contract that secretly obligates her to engage in a dual over the castle, but that also obligates the loser to kiss the winner on the lips.
…meaning whether she wins or loses, Tigerlily still has to perform an intimate act with Unity regardless of consent.
Oh, and Unity does this while possessing Virginia’s body. She’d held captive in her own mind, unable to control her own body, unable to protest what is done to her body.
And in the aftermath Virginia makes it perfectly clear that she resents what was forced upon her.
You know what? I’m not having this discussion with you. You see things the way you see them, and nothing I could possibly say would change your opinion. So I’m not going to bother.
Perhaps Unity, like the Joker, is fully aware of being fictional. I forget which Batman issue it was. IIRC he tried to turn the next page- didn’t work though.
I’m trying to assume that we’re just being protected from the maddening sight of UNITY’s newly formed, totally naked body.
There weren’t any clothes there, just parts.
Yes, a wild-ass guess since we never saw the complete contents of Remy’s sack. Plus we’ve only had a head shot of Unity in panels 3 & 4.
Who knows what manner of creature she has devised for herself?
Considering that the conversation was basically between Sweetheart and Remy, with the occasional interjections from Unity, I thought it was also a given that Remy was the other party.
Someone needs a less frightening hobby…
Anyone else, I’d be frightened. But this is Unity, so I’m just amused.

If you go back to the actual strips in question, it’s clear Virginia is NOT okay with things, and that she’s being coerced.

So yeah… not, I really have no clue what else to call that besides body invasion and mind-rape.

Someone is disturbed. I hope it’s me.
“I won’t disturb you with the details, because they would-”
“What?”
“Disturb you.”
Someone is going to win at Twister.
Bravo!
Speaking of Herbert West…
Now, does Unity now have her own remote control body, or do we have _two_ Unities, one a headless many-limbed abomination?
One mind, two bodies, just like when she defeated Tigerlily at the Abbey of Notaries.
Of course the big question is whether Unity completed a body for her head to sit on before she went and made Junior there.
I’m trying to assume that we’re just being protected from the maddening sight of UNITY’s newly formed, totally naked body.
There weren’t any clothes there, just parts.
Ouch. I think I just hurt something trying not to imagine that.
I’m sure the Queen would gladly offer Unity some clothing, even it that just means ordering one of her subjects to offer Unity some clothing.
So is Unity now Optimus Prime? She controls a “cab” and a “trailer” simultaneously?
Nick can control a “meat sack” and a “helicopter.” Unity could have the knack, too.
Well, it’s better than the alternative (See my earlier comment)
The two possibilities are not mutually exclusive.
Just because it’s a “headless many-limbed abomination” doesn’t mean she’s not controlling it.
And just because she is controlling it doesn’t mean it’s not a “headless many-limbed abomination”
“Abomination” pretty much describes most of the Skin-Horse client list. What’s one more nightmare-inducing creature?
Better make that Octopus Prime.
I’m curious how OneUniverse knew about the 4 legs and 6 arms??
My first thought is “they didn’t,” since I only see 6 limbs altogether (7 if you count the foot on top where a head should be).
Yeah, I’m seeing 3 legs and 3 arms (and only 2 hands), plus the foot-head.
Yes, a wild-ass guess since we never saw the complete contents of Remy’s sack. Plus we’ve only had a head shot of Unity in panels 3 & 4.
Who knows what manner of creature she has devised for herself?
I’m certain this is a Chekhov’s Gun loaded and waiting…
Sort of like the Idaho trip.
I dub thee Unity Spider
But with only 6 limbs, wouldn’t it be an insect of some kind, rather than a spider?
Seven, if you count the foot stuck on the top.
Seven? In that case, it’s a spider. Give or take a few hundred million years of evolution, anyway.
I’d have to look up what insects have their legs in a roughly radial pattern like that.
If the four of them double date, who pairs up with who?
I would think it’s a given that Unity and Sweetheart are together, so Remy gets to entertain the abomination.
Perhaps someone else in their social circle could date Mme. A-Bom-Ination. Queen Elena? Leo?
Considering that the conversation was basically between Sweetheart and Remy, with the occasional interjections from Unity, I thought it was also a given that Remy was the other party.
Okay, then. Remy dates Sweetheart and Unity dates The Abomination.
For heaven’s sake, Sweetheart prefers girls!
(And besides, if Unity dated The Abomination, she would basically be dating herself.)
If they’re both the same Unity, isn’t it more two-timing than a double date?
Unity just discovered the man spider. It might not be poisonous, but its hungry for destruction and is pretty hideous.
